Danny Kay opened his eyes on a triumphant morning. Feeling elated, he inhaled sharply, sinking further back onto his comfortable soothing bed. Today will be the last day of La Taro.
When the first tap came on the door, he calmly pressed the controls to open the door, his brown eyes shining.
“Boss, it's done.”
Danny Kay was not someone who was known to wear a smile on his face, but today he did.
Nearly a state away, the bullet-proof vehicle in which the aspiring drug king-pin was, got blown to pieces by a claymore. Anyone who knew La Taro would have been certain that his security was the best and that any kind of threat could not have been possible. Yet he lay dead in a morgue.
Danny enjoyed his favorite Tiramisu, as he watched Narcos. Tiramisu and the Narcos made him feel unconquerable. La Taro had taken the wrong path, and he had paid the price for it.
Danny paused the video and closed his eyes. In his mind, he instantly visited the first time La Taro joined his cartel and their meeting. Danny had instantly spotted La Taro’s sharp mind. Since then, La Taro has been his right-hand man who would one day be his successor. But that would have taken forty years or more and Danny knew that anyone's wrong move or word would have compelled him to kill La Taro without any kind of regret. Maybe La Taro knew too. After years of Danny having taken La Taro under his wing, La Taro had fled to another country. That was the first time that Danny had ever known the uncertainty of the future. Anything could have happened. La Taro could have gone to the DEA, he could have struck up a deal with the DEA cops, he could have leaked information, or he could have alerted someone about where to find Danny, though he escaped for his survival. That uncertainty, though Danny had never confided in anyone, had shaken him to an exhausting level. Danny never forgave someone who caused him torment. That was long after La Taro had abandoned them. Danny did not lay his hand on La Taro until he took over another supply chain which was a competitor of Danny’s cartel. Then La Taro was the owner of a synthetic drug lab. His advancement in the hierarchy within the cartel he formed was rapid, and Danny Kay received solid information that La Taro was already esteemed among the members of his cartel. Danny Kay had started to sense a challenge. This challenge was evident as something undeniable in the near future. Danny had to take care of him before La Taro’s cartel had more power and more money.
Danny was never the kind of person who would flaunt weapons and let the world see his power. Yet his power lied in crushing his enemies in ways which they least expected. Danny Kay had organized crime implanted in his DNA, as the Kay family was and has always been untouchable, by the authorities or the law. He would be “The Danny Kay” for decades to come.

Giselle moved at ease among the royals. Julian’s cousins were excited to have her at the wedding, as some of them had seen her photographs, but this was the first time they had met her in person. Giselle had to admit to herself that when her Majesty the queen walked over to Giselle, Giselle immediately started blushing.
“Oh, I made you blush, didn’t I ?” She held Giselle gently by the shoulders.
“This is a good start. This is a good start,” Giselle repeated to herself, being careful not to let anyone see her lips move.
Furthermore, Giselle did not feel that she was someone below them. Their world was just different and as Julian wanted, she was getting a taste of it. She could see that these people were humans too. It was another world, if she was being honest with herself and this level of aristocracy was something she had to learn. She truly had to learn the level of aristocracy and the ways of it. But in the middle of it all, was the man that she was in love with and not willing to give up on.
“Has he ever brought you here?” Her Majesty the Queen asked Giselle.
“No. Not this place.” Giselle smiled sheepishly.
“Let me introduce you to the others. You should join us for dinner or for a stay. We would love to have you here.”
Giselle’s heart beats were sounding louder, as if they were ringing loud inside her ears.
“Have Julian’s cousins seen you?” Her Majesty waved at a few guests who were in the direction they were walking in.
“Yes, your majesty, I met them. Obviously, they know everything about me,” Giselle smiled. The interior of the complex was so peaceful without the camera shutters splashing away in an endless train.
Her Majesty the Queen introduced Giselle to a few more members of the family, who were clearly welcoming and warm towards the new girl, who was sure to be seen much more within their inner circles in the future.
While shaking hands with them and exchanging greetings, her hands were working, and she was smiling, yet she paused in her mind as a thought flashed across her mind.
“What have I got to talk to them about? Do we need to have anything in common or do I have to learn to know what’s going on at their end of the world?”
Giselle was to learn. She smiled at one of the members, whom she had not seen before, pursed his lips, as the look in his eyes pierced hers, with a look which seemed to say that she was not welcomed as an insider at all. Giselle’s heart beat faster as she sensed the lack of warmth and that was when Prince Ivan, whose name she got to know later, strode into the circle, boisterously introducing himself.
“Hey! The Equestrian who won Julian’s heart!”
Giselle quickly cast her eyes down and blushed, which Ivan quickly detected and went on to formally introduce himself, “Hey, That was how I heard about you. You should ask Julian.” Prince Ivan chuckled. “Thank you for your timing!”
“I’m Ivan, Julian’s cousin. Have you thought of competing for the Alpha Championship?”
Giselle shifted his gaze away from Ivan in time to see that his words had caught the attention of Countess Evelyn—Arthur Calpabelle. Giselle was elated as she recognized the person within a split-second. Countess Evelyn-Arthur Calpabelle was the only member of the royal family who had been of any interest to Giselle in the previous years, as she was a two-time Olympic gold-medalist equestrian, the only blue-blood to have accomplished this particular achievement. Having married his prince -charming, the aristocratic beauty hailing from Greek nobility, was someone who had established herself as an undeniable insider, within the aristocracy of her husband’s royal family. Giselle took her chance.
Prince Ivan introduced Giselle to the Countess and Giselle carefully listened to herself as she addressed the Countess, “I’ve been following all the achievements thus far, and I’m delighted to meet you!” Giselle barely attempted to hide her excitement.
“Consider me an admirer.” Giselle then maintained steady eye contact, briefly turning to Prince Ivan to smile at him.
“Thank you for finding common ground!” At that moment, Giselle had made a friend among the blue bloods.
