Jake's P.O.V
I started driving back to the pack house when I heard howling and realised that it was too early, they hadn't finished yet. I pulled over on the side of the road and stopped the car, getting out. I knew exactly what was going on, Becky had just completed her first shift. The howls were so loud that it made the animals around us run and hide for safety, when it finally died down, I got back in the car and Casey looked stunned.
"What was that?" Casey asked, looking out the window, making me laugh.
"Wolves, they howl when new pups are born, I think it's really cool." I replied, I couldn't exactly turn round and say 'oh it's okay one of your friends has just turned into a wolf for the first time' could I?
she chuckled.
"I thought it was beautiful how they sounded." Casey said, she looked mesmerized.
"I thought so too." I said, but I wasn't referring to the howling, instead I was looking straight at Casey. She looked back at me and caught me staring at her, which made her cheeks go a light pink colour, she held my hand in hers, before I had a chance to start the car.
"Jake, thank you for taking me today, thank you for letting me break down the way I did, I miss them so much." Casey softly whispered.
"Your welcome, one day we'll find out who did this to them Casey, I promise." I replied, not wanting this night to end. She nodded and I started the car back up, driving off down the road.
"I want to take you to meet my family tomorrow, is that okay?" I asked, just as we pulled up at the pack house, she smiled and nodded.
"Yes of course, I would love to meet them." Casey replied, making me breathe out a sigh of relief. I was so excited. I got out of the car to walk her to the door and when we got there, we were standing just inches away from each other.
"Can I kiss you?" I whispered, but she could only nod yes. I leaned in, softly kissing her on the lips and felt the electricity going through me and into her.
"Wow." She whispered, touching her lips.
"I'm glad I could have that effect on you." I said, smiling and making her blush.
"I'll see you tomorrow Jake." Casey said, as she opened the door and headed inside. I chuckled then left to head home.
Casey's P.O.V
Even though he had only just left, I felt like I wanted to text him, it was weird and I felt this strong pull to him. I knew I didn't want to sound needy, so it took a few minutes to figure out what I wanted to write, but I gave up after a while. Was this really a date? It didn't start out as a date, in fact it felt more like friends, but when the wolves started howling it felt so romantic.
"Pull yourself together, girl." I said to myself and started heading upstairs when Becky stopped me.
"It looks like you had a nice time on your date." Becky said, smiling and wiggling her eyebrows at me, but I shook my head.
"It wasn't really a date, we went to my parents grave tonight, but the most amazing thing happened when we were heading back." I replied, remembering the sounds that were made.
"Really? What happened?" Becky asked, taking a seat on the stairs.
"We heard howling, it sounded so beautiful and we even stopped to listen. It sounded so magical." I replied, but Becky looked like she had seen a ghost.
"R...really? I wish u could have heard it." Becky said, slightly stuttering for some reason.
"I'm surprised you didn't, it was really loud." I replied, Becky nodded and stood up from the steps.
"Well, I'll leave you to go to your room." Becky said, I nodded and looked closer at Becky. She seemed to have changed since the last time I saw her, which was only a couple of hours ago. She looked different, she looked like she was losing her baby weight, her hair seemed shinier and she looked amazing.
Becky's P.O.V
I wasn't expecting Casey to say that, I didn't think she would have heard us. Oh God, what if she had come back while I was mid shift? Would she have freaked out? Of course she would, she has no idea that werewolves even exist.
"Oh and Becky." Casey said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turned and looked at her and she was smiling.
"Happy wonderful birthday. I'm glad we're friends." Casey said, smiling brightly at me and I felt so guilty for lying to her. I don't know how Katherine does it, she makes it look so easy, I'll have to ask her.
"Thank you, Casey." I replied, smiling back at her, God it feels horrible lying to her. Casey turned and headed to her room while I made it downstairs, when I heard a growl from behind me.
"MINE!" Someone said, I turned to see who it was and I was stunned, it was my boyfriend, Ice I've been dating him for the past two years now, my eyes widened as I smelled his scent, pine and mint.
"MINE!" I growled and we walked into each other's arms. We had both agreed that if either of us ever found our mate that we would break up and become friends.
"Thank goddess, I didn't want to lose you." Ice said, kissing me passionately.
"Aren't you glad we waited, it just made it even more special." I asked, I was over the moon that we were mates.
"Yes I'm happy we waited. I love you Becky, I'm glad we ended up being mates." Ice replied, I smiled up at him.
"Me too." I said and we headed to his room, closing the door behind us.
