Chapter 13Driada was pleased to be back aboard a ship. They did not sail on raiding ships, but on a battleship with three rows of oars. Driada had missed the cries of the men, including their bantering and rough housing. She had missed the smell of the saltwater and the feeling of sweat on her back, however unpleasant the heat may be at times. She had missed the weight of a blade and the ache of calloused fingers. But most of all, she had missed the feelings of power and confidence she had from assuming the role of captain. Her crewmates were not the only comforting presence at her side that day, as Thea had joined them.
