CHAPTER 2 - PROTECTIVENESS

POV ELIZABETH

I got in the vehicle and told my diver to head to my meeting destination. At this old age I was dreading the call I had to make to notify the changes to my granddaughter and grandson about the new housekeeper I just hated the drama that would come with it. There so over-protective I was more then capable at my old age being a She-wolf meant I aged slower than humans, I was stronger and way more healthier but I know why they worried I was older than the average werewolf, man had to go to war I was a warrior and more than capable to fight but I was also Luna and mother to the future alpha of or pack, so instead I stayed protected the future of our pack and strategized. While other species of shifter faded, I made it priority for our kind to live on. Thats why I was head of the Werewolf Council I had seen many wars and shifters die including my beloved mate, son and daughter in law. Thats what made me valuable to the council and sadly a target to greedy and power hungry man, so in a sense I understood my grandchildren’s worries not that I would ever tell them.

“Goddess help me” I said while I made the connection to link my granddaughter she was easier to handle than a Alpha Grandson.

“Lara honey I need a quick work with you” I linked her.

“Hi Nana, How are you? Is everything alright?” Lara asked

I rolled my eyes and smiled.

“I perfectly fine darling. Just heading to a meeting and wanted to let you know of change on the cleaning staff. I have hired a new housekeeper and she will be staying in the guesthouse out back. Please notify Karina she will be training the new housekeeper before she returns to her regular task at the pack house and before she leaves to check the guest house is clean and ready.” I said

“Nana I don’t understand. Karina is the best omega at her assignments and she is paid fairly. Is she acting up or something?” Lara asked. I could hear the worries in her voice.

“No Lara she is very good at what she does, thats why I want her to train the new housekeeper in fact I may still need her for minimal task’s.” I said trying to calme her down.

“Ok Nana I wont push it. Give me the name of the omega that will replace Karina and we will arrange for them to meet you before dinner.” Lara said

“Lara the person I hired is not part of the pack and she and her little one are human” I said to her firmly.

There was a moment of silence and a big take of breath from Lara.

“Grandma you know how Jayson feels about non shifters in our territory, one thing is town but she going to live with you and we have wolfs patrol your home. He’s not going to like this and we don’t even know this person, what if she takes advantage of you? Has stand-in Luna of this pack I don’t think this is a good idea” And here is where I stope her

“Lara you will not stop me from helping this young lady and her child and I may be old but I am not crippled. Now this is a done deal so as YOU are stand-in Luna you will have my back on this you can give you brother the news or accept and make the changes has Luna of this pack has I am sure you brother has enough responsibility as the Alpha. Keep in mind is because of me that you are stand-in Luna and he is not yet mated to a chosen mate by the rest of the members of the council. Do we have an understanding?” I said with my wolf MEEKA right on the surfaces. She felt strongly about this and is being a while does emotions rose for her.

“Yes Elizabeth, I will handle the changes” Lara said upset

“Good. I mean this when I say it you are doing wonderful has Luna of this pack. Now I have to go darling talk you soon. Love you” I told her when we arrived at the location the council was meeting.

“Thanks Nana I love you too.” Said Lara

In the meeting I could not help but think of little Aria.

**Flash back**

When I was walking straight to them the little ones was already waving at me showing her 4 little upper front tiny milky withe teeth and calle me

After this she points to herself with both hands and then extends her arms so that I can grab her.

This remides me of little Lara. I felt MEEKA lift her head with interest and smelled the air.

“Aria that’s not Nana” The young woman said.

By this point the I was in front of them. I looked at her she had beautiful olive green eyes, light yellowish skin like she could get a tan if she wanted to, black shoulder length hair with a white lock on center parting framing her face it looked like a birth mark because the skin was also whiter in that area, shes what people called chubby now a days and I called healthy and proper look for a woman standing around 5ft tall, she look like she was struggling and trying to make a living. What caught MEEKA and me off guard was her smell majority human but a hint of a sweet, musky scent.

¨ I apologies for my daughter I guess you reminder her of her grandmother ¨ the woman said has she handed me a flyer whose name was Dawn and she was promoting a cleaning business. I looked at the flyer then at little one calle Aria and all me and MEEKA felt was protectiveness.

“I will pay you daily $200 daily, I have a small guest house with all appliances installed and basic amenities are covered. It has only one room would that be a problem?” I offered to the young lady

I could tell she was shocked and waited for her to response.

“ It is not a problema no mam’m at all. But with all due respectI have some question.. How many hour per day would you need me?

What types of chores do you requires?

You do understand I am a single mother and Aria is with me all the time? ” Dawn kept rambling on.

To which I just laughed and chuckled.

“Oh darling I know your single no honest man on there right mind would let you be out here on the autumn cold handy out flyer. Look all I need is daily chores to get done I don’t care it it takes you 1 or 8 hours as long as there done you will get paid. I live alone so I don’t mind the little one roaming around the house. Any more questions?” I said with arched eyebrow.

“No mam’m” Dawn answer

“Good. Now you can stop handing out flyer now” I told her while grabbing the ones she had left and throwing them in the trash.“This is the address” I handed her a card with the information “Dinner is at 5pm don’t be late and my name is Elizabeth don’t call me mam’m I already know I am old. By little one” I waived to little Aria has I walked to the car. I could still hear her screming her goodbyes at me and it made me smile.

**Back to the present**

“The pack can no longer wait for the Alpha to find his mate every day he seems weaker and the pack needs an heir” Said one of the council members Stephan

There where murmurs and I realized I could no longer protect my grandson because the fact was it was true. But that dint stop me from saying what was true.

“ The Alpha is not weak and his and the stand-in Luna first priority is the pack. They where both born in it and therefore will do anything for our people.” I remember them

Council Stephan was about to speak to which I raise my palm too.

“It is true the pack needs an heir a future alpha BUT until we don’t have suitable candidate thing will remind as they are unless OUR Alpha find his true mate. With that being said we need a list of the most suitable ranking she-wolfs to be the chosen mate to our Alpha and Luna of our pack.” I said.

All of the council members agreed. And I had to tell my grandsons de news.
