WEDDING NIGHT

1383 Words
After Lena wore the clothes Tina gave to her, she went back to the bedroom and positioned herself at the edge of the king's sized bed. She expected a large room with different fixtures and Darian didn’t disappoint. The subtle rumbling of her stomach made her realize she hadn’t had anything to eat the whole day. She stood to her feet to get to the kitchen but remembered that wasn’t her house and again, she muttered some cuss words, wondering when she would get used to her new home. She walked back into the living room, waiting for Tina to show up. When she did, she requested food and in no time, Tina set the dining table and invited her over. "Thank you, Tina." Lena smiled as she made her way to the dining area. She took a cursory glance across the room, hoping to find her husband but there were no traces of him. She set the food and started to devour it gently. She was some minutes into eating when her phone started to ring —a call from her father but she didn't pick up, she stared at the phone while it rang. After the call ended, there were two more attempts from her father before Lisa placed a call to her. She picked up Lisa's call, pressed the phone to her ear, and she smiled. "Hey," She whispered in a low voice. "Hey, Lena. How are you? How is it going with you?” Lisa chimed. Lena could detect worry in her tone and she didn’t want that. She was about to respond to her friend when the door to the living room opened and a lady strolled in. Lena’s eyes captured her at once. She wore a red body-fitted dress that highlighted her perfect hour-glass curves, her hair was red too. Her stilettos were red and the sling bag around her arm was red. The dress barely reached her knees, revealing too much skin on her thighs. Lena ended the call with Lisa and walked up to her. She was about to say a word when Darian walked in. He slammed the door shut and the words couldn't leave her mouth anymore. She noticed the gigantic bag on the redhead but her mind didn’t dwell on that for long. Darian needed to explain what was going on. Her husband was not about to bring in another woman to sleep in his bedroom on their wedding day. Was he? "Is she the one?" Redhead asked Darian, admiring Lena in a licentious look. She looked away and scoffed. They were both crazy for pulling this on her. Darian could go ahead and do whatever the hell he wanted to do. She didn’t care. She shouldn’t care. "Yes. The woman I married today." He chuckled nonchalantly like he wasn’t sure about his choice. Lena glared at him, wondering what more he had told people about her. "Come in with me." Darian led the way towards the bedroom and the redhead followed behind, looking back at Lena with a smile that made Lena want to pull her hair off her head. If that was his taste in women then she wasn’t anywhere close and she wasn’t ready to impress him. But she was in pain. Her chest hurt as she watched them walk into the hallway. How could he do that to her on their wedding day? Lena almost lost their balance but all thanks to Tina and the couch, she was able to use them as support. "Did that just happen? Darian just brought in another woman on our wedding night?" She crashed on the couch and rubbed her temples down to her chin. "Tina, for crying out loud, we just got married today. We got married some hours ago and he's doing this?" She sobbed gently, but Tina was kind enough to soothe her. "He will get used to having you around." Tina assured her. She wasn’t certain what was going on with her boss. She only worked for him. She didn’t meddle in his businesses. Lena sat in the living room all through the time Darian was inside with the lady. When it was getting dark, she wondered if he would abandon her and stay with the redhead till morning. She was still lost in thoughts when the lady came out, she was dressed just the same way she went into the room. Nothing seemed to change aside from the fact that she was a bit sweaty now. “I hope you can deal with him.” The redhead said to Lena before walking away, not turning back to wait for a response. When Lena walked into the bedroom, Darian was on the chair and his computer was on the vanity table, he had his glasses on and his eyes were fixed on the screen. She sat on the bed and didn't say a word to him. He didn't notice her presence either. After several minutes of holding her words and anger in, she broke the silence. "I want to get my clothes tomorrow. I would like to go to my father's house to get them." She told him. She regretted doing that after she did. There was no point telling him. She could go wherever she wanted without seeking his permission but she felt it was best for her to let him know. He continued tapping on the screen, not giving her a response. She knew she needed to take a shower before going to sleep, that was her usual routine at home but his presence was disturbing. A hopeful smile spread across her face when she remembered there were other rooms in the house and she could make use of one of them. She got to one of the rooms and tried the lock but it didn't work. She did the same for all the rooms but she was able to unlock any of them. She opted for sleeping on the couch in the living room but then remembered that he didn't complain about her in the room earlier. Changing her mind, she went back to the bedroom, hating the fact that she would be sharing the same bed with a man who just went in with another woman a few minutes ago. She stood by the door for a while. She walked inside shortly after. Darian was now in shorts and a transparent white shirt that outlined his lean muscles. Tearing her gaze away from his perfect manly form, she sat on the couch. She made up her mind not to talk to him and sleep on that couch through the night. "Tessy brought you some clothes," He coughed out, Lena stared at him and he continued, "That closet over there..." He threw his hand towards a side of the room. "Is mine and the one next to it will be yours, I got some clothes before you moved and she brought new ones today. You should check them out." Was the woman he brought in a few minutes ago Tessy? Lena just noticed that she didn’t leave with the bag she carried into the bedroom. She wanted to ask but she held back. “I didn’t f**k her. She’s just an assistant.” He said. As if he knew what her thoughts were all about. She heaved a relieved sigh and murmured. "Thank you." Loud enough for him to hear her. She didn’t know why she thanked him but she felt the need to. Maybe for the clothes he got her. "You should get to sleep." He switched off the lights, and Lena whined. She didn't like that she was alone with a man in a dark room. "Could you please turn on the lights?" She requested. "I don't sleep with the lights on. You can go sleep on the couch in the living room if you're not comfortable here." He said harshly. Lena sighed, his words didn't affect her though. She expected him to act that way towards her and should know that his kindness was pretentious. She grabbed a blanket and folded it around her hands. “Goodnight.” She said, walking out of the room. Darian watched her from the corner of his eyes and he knew that she would be trouble.
