FERRY ACROSS THE MERSEY
DC Gary (Ginger) Devenish, having met with the Ferries Manager, and made the agreed arrangements decided to take a trip across the river, accompanied by PC Trevor Miller, who, as per instructions, met Devenish at the Pier Head dressed in plain clothes, in his case, scruffy blue jeans, and a well-worn sweatshirt bearing some sort of Knights Templar logo. Miller had reported to the ferry captain and been put in touch with Devenish who filled him in on what was expected of him.
“So, if I see this man or woman, I say nothing to them, make no approach, and inform the captain, who will inform the squad at headquarters?”
