“It has been a while, Ms. Lynx.”
It was still the soft and low voice that I always knew. The same beautiful Marianne is in front of me, except for the missing former glamour that she had. Not a piece of the lovely and kind woman could be seen from the being standing right before my eyes.
Marianne has definitely lost weight since the last time I saw her and the soft-white skin that she is proud of no longer exists. If she was once a precious diamond, then the woman who once could covet any man with her beauty is now a rough river rock.
