I woke up to Davina pulling the curtains on the windows.
-Good morning sunshine.
-The sun burns, close it. I stammered in an unintelligible language.
- Honey, let's go. We have so much to do this morning.
-I thought I was just getting married.
-Only? Just get married? My child, you must stay tidy until then. We go straight from this bed to the Spa, and you only leave there to come back here and say you accept my son's hand. understood?
“Yes ma'am,” I said coming to attention as Davina lifted me from the bed.
It was never part of my life plan to get married. At least not at 19 and with an Italian billionaire with a wonderful British accent. But my life has been meaningless for quite some time, but only after Michael came back to me did it start to be a good no-nonsense.
I spent the day at the Spa, with people shaving, exfoliating and massaging me. I was made up and dressed like a 5 year old doll. I was glad Davina and Sophie were having so much fun. Their happiness infected me and took away the butterflies in my stomach, at least for a while. When we were done, I stayed in a room getting ready, while Davina, already ready, communicated with the organizer who was in the house. He confirmed that they were ready and the time had come. I left the Spa in my lace and satin dress and got in the car. My heart was pounding, but I knew I was ready, even though I was nervous.
When we arrived, Davina went to the front of the ornamentation and joined Francis. My family side of the altar was empty, but I wasn't going to think about that now. Jason would walk me down the aisle and there he was, perfectly dressed and waiting for me to accompany me. I grabbed his arm and told him not to let me fall. He said he would hold me if I held him. I laughed and suddenly the music started playing. They called me and we went in. I walked and smiled at everyone, but when my gaze landed on Michael, I was ecstatic. He looked like a prince in his lined suit. He was wearing my birthday tie, which made me chuckle internally. He was perfect, and he looked at me like I was the only woman in the room. I wasn't nervous anymore, he was there. He would always be there for me. When Jason handed me over to him, I smirked and said.
-I thought you wouldn't come.
-I wouldn't miss it for anything. You look stunning, Alice Claire.
Everyone sat down and the ceremony went as planned by Davina, then the party came and we danced to our first song, City n' Color, "Love come back". It was a song that we both liked and it said a lot about our relationship. After a while, I was talking to Mike, when a security guard arrived and whispered in his ear, Michael, who was calm, immediately hardened his expression and, kissing my hand, said he would be right back. I was worried enough to know that I wouldn't stand there waiting for him to come back with explanations, if he'd say anything. I gave it a few minutes and followed it. At the front of the house I saw her. Susana had her makeup smudged and was holding a bottle of whiskey in her hand, shouting insults at anyone who would listen.
-Look at him there, finally. We have our knight in armor here, who left London to save the little w***e in distress, but isn't he perfect? A damsel in distress of the 21st century.
-Susana, you shouldn't be here, you weren't invited to this party. Much less to this house.
-I don't need an invitation to say what you need to hear. You play so selfless, so upright, but you're just another pedophile taking advantage of a girl. Or am I wrong? Because if I am, it means you're innocent, so the taker is this unfinished p**n star project. Who broke into my house and stole my man from me. Where's that little dog? I hope she's not wearing a white dress, because only virgins get married like that, and if there's one thing she's not, she's a virgin, folks.
Susana was carried away screaming and struggling in the arms of the security guards, while she was pushed off the grounds of the house. Michael was standing looking away and I was sitting on the front door steps. Francis clapped Mike on the shoulder and apologized, looked at me and kissed my forehead.
– You are what is here. He said pointing to my heart. “I don't want you to pay attention to any of what you've heard. I'll go back and distract the guests.
Michael had turned around when he heard Francis talking to me. He looked at me desolately and sat down next to me. I couldn't hold back any longer and tears streamed down my face. I had learned to cry quietly, which helped me through the darkest times of my life. Susana was partly right. This whole thing here was a farce, this dress, this innocence that everyone put on top of me. I haven't been like this in a long time. I had been corrupted. Couldn't stop crying. I didn't know whether from sadness or anger.
“Alice Clair,” Michael said lifting my face towards him. — I don't want you to think for a second that Susana was right in what she said. She's a horrible person sober, drunk, well, she did it. I don't know how she knew the wedding would be here. I'm sorry for what you heard. I love you, hear? Answer me, please. He said rubbing my cheek with his thumb, caressing and drying my tears.
-I heard you. I love you too. But she was right, I don't deserve you. I'm broke, Michael. I will never be fixed.
-I don't want to fix you. You're perfect. You are not to blame for the things you were forced to do. That's in the past, where it should be. I just want you to be a person now. Yourself. Alice Claire. Who doesn't know how to move in the bathtub. Who likes giant wheels. Just be the person I love.
-I love you. Much. - I said as he placed me on his lap calming my crying. I kissed his mouth and the kiss was salty. After a while, we went back to the party and danced some more slow songs. Mike never left me and was always whispering in my ear how beautiful I looked and how much he loved me.
