Bel dropped down to sit on his chair. It was built to his large scale, as were many things in his palace. Oisin sat beside him in a more normal chair and set his book aside. He’d been reading in the library while he waited for Bel’s return, but truth be told the book hadn’t really held his attention. “No luck?” Bel shook his head. “No, curse it. In past years I was always glad that the gods kept mostly to themselves and didn’t interfere with each other’s lives, but now I am getting rather irritated. Nobody knows where Alitius is, and I’ve gotten only the weakest of offers to help deal with him. I think the only one worth the breath it took to utter so far came from Nuadu, who said that he would lend his powers to the healing of my followers, should any be injured in Alitius’ attack.” Bel
