“Exactly why I’d rather fight with him than wear the stupid things”
He growls as I swing the door open and walk down the hall to the kitchen
“Heartly come back here right NOW”
“NO YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO”
I shout back at him, as I do Desmond sticks his head out of the office frowning down the hall
“I swear I’ll carry you back into the damn room if you don’t come back here NOW”
“And I’ll put you on your damn ass if you try!”
Hope growls pushing forward to glare at him, her anger hitting me, only adding fuel to the already smoking kindling in my soul
“Wow wow wow! What’s going on?”
Desmond asks, coming from the office just as I pass him and turn to glare at gavin
“Tell him to back the f**k off”
“Heartly? What’s wrong?”
Dad asks coming inside from the deck, I groan when I realise the entire family is here and outside smoking looking in.
“Why what’s happening”
Desmond asks gavin, who doesn’t seem to give a s**t if my family was there or not
“She won’t wear underwear”
Desmond’s eyebrow shoots up in surprise, he turns to look at me smirking
“Is that true?”
“Hell yes it’s true! I don’t like how they feel! They are annoying and nobody is going to make me wear them”
He looks back to gavin who was still pissed
“Pick your battles gav, this one is not worth your energy”
“But what if the dress blows up?”
Gavin snaps back, Desmond closes his eyes and gavin growls
“Seriously! Your solution is to tell the pack to keep their eyes up when they see her!!”
Hope snorts laughing as I grin triumphantly at gavin, walking to Desmond who turns and pushes hair from my face
“You look beautiful”
He whispers gently kissing me, I moan as our lips touch, the connection we had growing stronger by the moment, his fingers gently hold my face as he softly kisses me.
I push into it, wanting more as my face lights up with tingles and my belly fills with excitement. He pulls back smiling at me, then he looks to gavin who was definitely still pissy about the panties.
“So now that whatever that was is over, can I say hello to my daughter who can actually hear me now?”
Dad says, I grin turning and I run into his arms, he grabs me and swings me from side to side.
“How do you feel?”
I sigh, thinking about that answer, my ears hurt from the constant noise around us, the buzz from the static in the air, the wildlife right outside my door, the fridges constant hum and the noise from the coffee machine as the water heats up.
“It’s all overwhelming, everything is so noisy, I don’t know how you can All concentrate”
“We don’t even notice the stuff that you notice, it will take time but all that stuff will blend into the world”
Carly tells me, coming inside and taking my hand as she talks. As she finishes she sighs
“I can’t heal bruising, you know I can take the pain away, the swelling and almost everything else but your tired because of the bruising on your brain. It’s not dangerous, your fine and healthy your brain just needs time to recover”
“So it’s normal?”
Gavin asks, I turn to look at a much quieter gavin, he seems relieved.
“Totally normal”
Gavin closes his eyes and he takes a breath in relief
“Are you ok?”
I ask him, his eyes open and he nods
“Yeah, as annoying as you are i've waited far too long for you to come along and I want to make sure your safe”
He tells me, grabbing my hand and yanking me back towards him, he wraps his arms around my body and he slowly swings me from side to side
“I love you”
“I love you too”
I whisper back, he pulls away smirking
“Enough to wear pants?”
I snort
“You wish, it’s not happening”
Desmond laughs walking to us and kissing my forehead
“So now that that is done can we talk about the ceremony?”
Carly asks, I see mum on the deck quickly throwing a smoke in the ashtray before she runs inside
“Wait for me, and hey”
She says rushing over to hug me, both boys huff as they let me go to hug her
“You look amazing, now what is the plan?”
She looks back to Carly
“We need to figure out who to invite firstly”
I shake my head
“Nobody, just you guys and the parents, I don’t want a crowd because they will be too noisy”
“Well what about the rest of the kids?”
Mum asks, Hope groans, rolling her eyes. The thought of Hadley made my stomach drop, she was a bitch
“As I said just us and the parents. Daisy is an hour away, Cain and Eva can come if they want and I’m sure katy will be here but Anyone that needs to travel doesn’t need to be here”
“Heartly you can’t not invite her”
Dad tells me, I shrug
“No, I’m done with her, she obviously doesn’t give a s**t about me and why make her travel for a 10 minute ceremony. I don’t want her here”
“Who are we talking about?”
Gavin asks, I look to him shaking my head
“Her twin sister, Hadley”
Desmond tells him, looking at me sympathetically
“You have a twin sister?”
