She yelps prancing on her toes so they know she’s ready to run, both of them look up at me, I can see the confusion in their eyes, they are wondering the same thing.
Instead of waiting I decide to take off, I needed to clear my head, as I start running I hear them bound after me, feeling the vibrations as they run, hearing as the soft pads of their feet hit the dirt and grass under their toes. It struck me then how different they felt to me. A normal wolf sounded different from them while I ran. But they have their own sort of vibration.
It was almost louder than a usual Lycan or wolf, as there feet hit the forest floor it sent a pulse right through the ground and straight into my own paws, vibrating through my body and embedding the feeling in my soul so I could remember it forever.
But I don’t just hear them, I hear everything, my hearing in wolf form far outweighs the hearing of any normal wolf, me and opa had realised that very quickly.
As I hit the treeline I take off, loving the feeling of the wind through my hair, the dirt between my toes. Then the sounds were almost magical, the forest goes quiet as we approach, everything sensing the danger as I run through the forest full of wildlife.
I run and run and run, I run until my legs ache and my chest hurts, I run until the moon is high in the sky and the stars are twinkling in the darkness around it.
slowly I stop beside a stream of water, leading into a deep blue pool of fresh water, a small waterfall sat on the opposite side of the pool.
It was so beautiful under the moonlight, before I even realise it’s happening hope shifts, pushing my body head first into the water.
I scream in shock as she howls in laughter, pushing up through the top of the water, I gasp at how cold it is.
Deek comes to a roaring halt at the edge, growling as he looks around the area as I fall back into the water, paddling through the pool. I ignore both boys as giggle with hope
“You b***h”
“Oh please that was better than tv”
She tells me giggling like a schoolgirl, I push the water from my face before laying back in the water to look at the sky, flipping around I decide to explore in silence, swimming to the waterfall until I’m splashed from behind.
Turning I see a very pissed off, naked Desmond
“What the f**k are you doing! Anyone could have seen you! Gavin f*****g did”
Hope pushes forward growling at him
“Don’t talk to her like that! I shifted without her permission! Don’t blame her and don’t shout at her either!”
Desmond glares at me so I glare back, resisting the urge to flip him the bird.
“Get out of the water heartly! We are going home NOW!”
I snort shaking my head
“Hell no, go f**k yourself!”
I sign back, turning and diving under the water to calm myself down before I said something I regret. I feel a splash on the surface of the water, I turn coming face to face with Desmond
“You can’t talk to me like that!”
“I can if your being a d**k!”
I sign back, looking past him I see gavin laughing hysterically, Desmond looks behind me growling at him, the vibration from his chest rumbles through the water.
“What she’s funny and it’s true you were being a d**k”
He says jumping into the water, I grin moving so I could see Desmond’s pissed of face
“What else should I be other than pissed off? She’s naked! You seen her! Your looking at my butt naked mate right now and anyone could see her”
Hope Pushes forward to answer
“There was no one else here, I wouldn’t have done it if anyone was, I would have felt the vibrations”
I sign back quickly, gavin points to me
“See she’s smarter than you think!”
Both mine and Desmond’s head snap in his direction
“You understand me?”
His cheeks go bright red as he nods
“Yes, after he found you and we found out you were deaf I learned sign language. I wanted to make sure you had a friend when you arrived”
My stomach flips in excitement, my face breaking out into the biggest smile ever as I look back at a stunned Desmond
“You did that for her?”
“I did it for you both”
Gavin answers, hope moves faster than my brain can function, leaping on gavin and hugging him. He freezes as our skin touches, it doesn’t tingle like it does with Desmond but it does do something. The blood in my veins heat up under my skin, washing over me like a warm shower on a cold day.
I pull back in shock, running my hand down his body I gasp looking into his eyes.
“I don’t think he feels it”
Hope whispers, I turn to look at Desmond and I wave him towards me
“Do you feel it?”
I sign, he frowns coming to my side
“Why are you touching him! Seriously your naked!”
He snaps rushing towards me but then he pauses taking a calming breath
“But feel what?”
I take his hand, lifting it and placing it on gavins shoulder, he looks at me perplexed but as there skin touches they both close their eyes and gasp.
as they open again Desmond pulls his hand away shrugging his shoulders
“I feel something but I’m not sure what it is”
He whispers, dropping his head. I look at Gavin and I can see the hurt on his face. I wanted to take the pain away from them both. I just wish I knew how.
“What is happening?”
I ask hope, she looks just as confused as I felt.
