“Damn I’m not sure how I’m ever going to be able to resist you”
He says sadly, his head turned away from me thinking I can’t hear him. He sounded broken and I hated that. Taking a breath hope closes her eyes, pulling on the voices of those waiting for us
“I think it’s a joke, my brother is deaf, I know what he’s capable off, he can fight too but he couldn’t run a pack. She would be better off being rejected”
“I agree, we can always make life a little difficult for her, the alpha may love her but it won’t be long until he sees the truth”
“Seriously you guys are crazy, she is more than capable. She will probably be the best Luna this pack has ever had before”
“No your crazy, you don’t know deaf people, I do and I know what works and what doesn’t”
The girl snaps, having made my decision I grab gavins shirt and I yank him with us, he chuckles patting my head. As we approach they had their backs to us talking.
“Look she’s been trained her entire life, if you don’t have faith in her don’t take the job”
“And why do you have faith in her?“
They both ask the paramedic at the same time
“Because she’s a Lycan princess. She was chosen for a reason and faith has never failed us before”
“Now him I like”
Hope tells me, I nod in agreement listening as they quiet down and turn
“So who of you are dedicated to the Luna, who believes in her”
All 3 out there hands shoot up at the same time, I roll my eyes and turn away from them all. As I do I can feel there burning desire to talk about me
“Beta is she really going to be Luna, iv got to tell you my brother can do a lot of things but running a pack is not one of them”
“Excuse me? She IS Luna and she is perfectly capable of running this pack! Anyone else have anything to say?”
He snaps back immediately making me smile from the inside
“I agree with Claire, it’s not going to work”
“Enough! You will trust in the fact she was chosen for this pack, she was born for this. Don’t you dare question it or the alpha and his choices. I for one am proud to have our Lycan princess as Luna. It’s not everyday you get to spend your time with a genuine genus”
I grin as hope holds in her chirp of pride, turning I grab gavins shirt and I pull him from the crowd
“Looks like we are done here, I’ll be Intouch”
He tells them as I pull him towards Ailms house, he holds my fur the entire way, helping us relax a great deal. As we arrive he opens the door for us, deacon, Ailm and Jake were all standing around the table, when they see me they instantly see gavins hand on my fur as I walk.
“Please tell me she did not strip in front of them?”
Desmond snaps making hope giggle on the inside
“She almost did, I convinced her to change in the forest”
He grabs my rolled up clothes and he places them in my mouth, Grabbing them I head into the bathroom to change. As I get in and close the door I stop to listen.
“How did she do? How did they do?”
“She did great, they on the other hand have very little faith in her. I would be worried about her with them if I’m honest”
“Was there no one?”
Ailm asks
“One, a paramedic, he can sign and he seems to have genuine faith in her so I’d choose him but the rest was a no”
“I still don’t think she needs a guard here”
Deacon snaps
“I know dad but until I trust the pack with her she needs one. You never know what can happen, iv waited 18 years for her and I won’t lose her now”
“He has a point love, she needs someone to have her back”
Ailm adds
“When is the ceremony?”
“Tonight, tomorrow, the next day, whenever she wants it”
“Oh hell no! I’m not standing infront of all those people. I’d rather do it privately”
I tell hope, she nods in agreement
“She won’t like a crowd so we will just do just family, record it and send it to the pack. All they need to know is she is Luna, like it or not”
“Damn I love that man”
Hope tells me, giddy with excitement that our life is almost falling into place. All we had to do now was deal with gavin and then I can be happy.
We shift, knowing they will miss us if we wait any longer then we emerge from the bathroom grinning at the family, all of them immediately move in, pulling me into a hug
“Happy birthday baby girl, and welcome home”
Deacon says first, Ailm follows kissing my cheek
“We missed you so much and we are so happy your finally here”
“I missed you guys too”
I answer just as Jake throws his arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. I grin pulling back and stepping between both Desmond and gavin, then I turn to Desmond to talk
“I choose none of them”
He frowns
“What? Why?”
“Because I want gavin”
He smiles at me sadly shaking his head
“But that won’t work”
“It has too, I don’t trust them. They don’t think I can do this. Trust me I know. I want gavin”
He shakes his head
“I’m sorry but that’s not an option”
“No! I Trust him. I want him”
I say out loud, looking into his deep golden eyes and I point to gavin. I break eye contact, looking to gavin who looked conflicted
“I want you, I want it to be you, me and desmond, I want you, I trust you”
As I say it out loud his jaw goes slightly slack, stepping forward he grabs my face with his hand and he pulls me closer to him.
“What if I hurt you. You need to come first”
He whispers dropping his head so we are at eye level
“What if I find my mate”
I shake my head grabbing his hand and I place it on my chest, my heartrate was elevated just slightly
“You are my mate, I can feel it”
Hands flailing around the place pulls me from the moment, I turn stepping back into gavins chest as deacon and Ailm argue with Desmond, I could feel the tension in the room as gavins breath breezes past my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine.
“What the hell is going on? What is happening?”
Desmond looks back at gavin, I look up at him and I could feel his hesitation. He finds my hand, linking his fingers with my own for support and he nods to Desmond so I look back at him.
“A long long time ago before heartly was even born me and gavin were a thing”
I reach out with my free hand and I squeeze Desmond’s, he takes it shaking. Anxiety, fear and even a little shame hits me through the bond as he steps back towards me. Deacon and Ailm both freeze looking to each other then back to Desmond
“How long did this go on for?”
“6 or 7 years”
