Chris’ POV

I looked up at her, “go after” mum said giving me a reassuring smile, I got up and walked out after Lily, I found her sitting in the middle of my/our bedroom knees brought up to her chest, tears spilling down her face, “come here” I said pulling her into my arms, surprisingly she didn’t fight me “what’s wrong” I said rocking us back and forward “come on you can tell me” I said holding her “I know why you did it Chris” she spat at me through the tears “did what” I said slightly taken aback, “you only wanted Jay because you knew that I wouldn’t leave without him” she said pushing against me “I did it for you, I know how much your brother means to you, I let him live” I said letting go of her “why do I get the feeling that your lying to me” she said before storming out of the room, I followed her back down into the dining room, I sat back down my eyes always on lily as she stood talking with her brother in a corner. Jackson clicked his finger for his glass to be refilled by Jay, but Jay was still talking with Lily, I strained my ears to hear what they were saying, “the door is unlocked” Jay whispered to Lily, “I’m not going without you” she said back “you have to, think about Nickolas, he would kill Max and take you back” Jay said his voice full of worry “i***t my cup isn’t gonna fill itself” Jackson shouted at Jay, everybody in the room fell silent, everyone except for Lily who was growling at Jackson.

Lily’s POV 

“The door is unlocked” Jay whispered to me, “I’m not going without you” I said back “you have to, think about Nickolas, he would kill Max and take you back” Jay said his voice full of worry “i***t my cup isn't gonna fill itself” Jackson shouted at Jay, I looked over at Jackson as everyone in the room suddenly fell silent, I let out a growl, “boy, cup fill now” Jackson barked at Jay “fill your own cup” I said shouting at him “Alpha control you mate” Chris’ dad spoke up, I strode over to Max and picked him up, before striding out of the dining hall, I ran to the front door wrenching it open and ran towards the forest, with Max in my arms, as soon as I got to the edge of the forest, I stripped and shifted, and grabbed the back of Max's shirt with my teeth, I continued running until I came to the river on the edge of the packs border, I could smell other wolves closing in around us. I took a step back about to jump the water, when I was knocked to the ground, I rolled onto my back, and Max went rolling to, Chis stood over me in his wolf form, shaggy black fur against my sandy coloured fur, I kicked my back leg upwards scraping his belly, he barked at me, he wanted me to shift, I shook my head, he barked again before getting off me, he walked over to where Max ways sitting down, he picked Max up by the back of his shirt, Max started to cry out, I snarled at Chris padding up to him, I went to snatch Max out of his jaws but Chris moved him away, I lunged at Chris knocking Max out of his grip, within seconds I was pinned down by Chris, “he wants you to shift” Jackson said coming out in his human form throwing a pair of shorts at Chris, he got off me and shifted, pulling on the shorts, I gave him a bite on the leg “Shift” Chris yelled at me, power coming off him in waves, Jackson through a pair of shorts and a shirt in my direction, I picked them up in my mouth and trotted behind a tree, I shifted and changed before walking back out into the open, I walked over to Max scoping him up in arms “it’s alright I’m here, no bodies ever going to take you away from me” I said hugging him close to me “one of the Omegas will look after him from now on” Chris said taking Max from my arms and handed him to a woman that had appeared suddenly “don’t you dare touch him” I said wrenching him back into my arms “stay away from me and my family” I screamed at him taking a few steps back, I felt the coolness of the water on my bare feet, but I stopped, something in my chest started to c***k, I knew that if I left my heart would break, damn it I was falling in love with him
