CHAPTER NINE: WAR OF THE MATES

592 Words
The room cracked with power. Jaxon’s fist collided with Alexander’s jaw, sending the prince staggering back. Blood splattered across the marble. Before he could recover, the third mate grabbed Jaxon by the throat and slammed him into the wall. “You don’t touch what’s mine,” he growled. Jaxon spat blood. “Yours? You think a few rounds between her thighs makes you a mate?” Alexander wiped his mouth, eyes golden, fury glowing through his veins. “I marked her first. Don’t forget it.” Aurora stood in the center of the chaos, robe slipping from her body again, exposing her glowing belly. “I said STOP.” Her voice echoed like thunder. Power exploded from her skin in a red-gold shockwave, throwing all three men back. She dropped to her knees, trembling. Her stomach pulsed with soft light. And for the first time— She felt two heartbeats inside her. The Pregnancy Awakens Aurora lay curled on the bed, sweat dripping from her forehead. Her stomach glowed faintly beneath the silk sheets. Her n*****s were swollen, aching again, and the space between her thighs throbbed with hunger—a craving tied to the baby’s energy. Every time she moaned, a pulse of power burst from her skin. “What’s happening to me…?” The third mate stepped into the room, followed by Alexander and Jaxon—silently united by fear. Jaxon’s jaw was tight. “You’re changing. That baby is… not normal.” Alexander nodded. “It’s part of a prophecy. One I hoped wasn’t real.” Aurora’s heart pounded. “What prophecy?” The Prophecy of the Trinity Womb Alexander stepped forward, pulling a scroll from his coat. “This was hidden by the Elders.” He unrolled it. “She who bears the blood of the moon shall birth a ruler. But her womb shall not quicken by one alone—it shall bind to three. Three mates. Three bonds. Three sources of power. And from her womb, a child of divine fire and destruction shall rise. Only she can balance the chaos. But should one bond shatter… the world will burn.” Silence. Aurora stared at them, her robe falling from her shoulders again. Her body pulsed with need. “I’m… the womb,” she whispered. “And the baby is growing too fast.” She stood, swaying. “I need to feed it,” she said, barely breathing. “I need one of you inside me. Now.” All three stepped forward. But she turned to Alexander. He growled low, ripping his shirt off, eyes glowing. He grabbed her thighs, lifted her against the wall, and slid into her—deep, fast. She cried out, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Harder,” she begged. He obeyed. Jaxon stood by, fists clenched, watching her breasts bounce as Alexander slammed into her. The third mate licked his lips, whispering, “She’ll need us both again soon.” Aurora came, screaming, her back arching as power rippled from her womb into Alexander’s chest. Aftermath – Cracks Begin to Show Aurora lay in bed, panting, her belly glowing brighter now. Alexander stroked her thigh. Jaxon sat at the window, silent. The third mate stood at the edge of the bed, watching like a predator. She felt torn. Loved. Owned. And somehow… Still not whole. That night, she dreamed of fire. Of the baby inside her tearing open the world. And of one mate turning on her. The prophecy hadn’t lied. One would betray her. But which one?
