AURORA’S POV Silence as the time ticked by, staring down at Silas’s face. Pulling back his lid, I couldn’t see his eyes; they were jet-black and expressionless. So now I waited. I waited until the team doctor came through. It’d been close to an hour since I first called Owen. Owen had seemed excited when he picked up the phone but quickly changed to concern as I sobbed, begging him for help, unsure of where else to turn. He’d calmed me, telling me he’d get in touch with the team doctor and I’d be okay, that Silas would be okay. I hadn’t heard from him since. I grabbed my phone, my eyes still on Silas, ready to call Owen back and demand he tell me where the doctor was and why I hadn’t heard from him. But then there was a knock at the front door, followed by my mom calling through the door
