Chapter 15
WHEN THEY ARRIVED home, Tom took his music to the studio to put it away while Noah checked the messages on their answering machine.
“Anything interesting?” Tom said when he walked back into the kitchen.
“You could say that. My cousin Joey is going to stop by late tomorrow afternoon. Evidently, Mom gave him our number and told him we’d most likely be home.”
“Joey’s the cousin who gave you the thumbs-up in church and hugged you at the cemetery after your dad’s funeral?”
“Yeah. I wonder what he wants?”
“I guess we’ll find out tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, we have important business to take care of upstairs.”
“What business?”
He gave Noah the look and arched his eyebrows.
“Oh.”
They had a light lunch Sunday after they got home from church, followed by a nap. Then Tom left
