Hours later, after searching the site thoroughly with no sign that his tutu had been there, Thomas called off the search. He had just rejoined Daniel and Laura, and they were making their way back to the main chamber, when they realized Kale wasn’t with them.
And then they heard a scream.
They took off toward the sound, their headlamps bobbing as they ran. And they found Kale on the floor of another chamber, surrounded by several small creatures that scurried away when the three of them came charging in.
“They’re baby mo‘os!” Kale exclaimed.
