Twenty-Nine Tuesday, May 24 Makauwahi Cave, Kaua‘i Thomas and Daniel stood at the entrance to the hidden cave at the Makauwahi Cave Reserve, watching as Laura wiggled across the muddy ground under the rock overhang and disappeared through the small opening. A moment later, she called back to them. “I’m through. It’s easy. What are you guys waiting for?” Daniel patted his belly. “I really don’t see how tutu did this. I hope I can get through.” Thomas laughed. “You mean you hope you can get that gut through. I’d better go next, just in case you get stuck.” In the end, they all squeezed through, despite some groaning from Daniel. Both brothers ended up covered in mud, but Laura had somehow managed to only smudge her hands and knees. They found themselves standing in a massive sinkhole
