Thomas sipped a bottle of water as Laura gave her explanation for what they had found.
“It can only be some sort of monitor lizard,” she said. “Like a giant Komodo dragon, perhaps even related to Australia’s Megalania—that’s the largest monitor lizard that ever lived.”
Daniel nodded enthusiastically. “Even if it isn’t a mosasaur, this is a huge find, babe. And Mom will say it explains the origins of the stories about the mo‘o. You two could publish a joint anthropology-paleontology paper on it. I guess tutu was right about her dragon bones after all. I just wish she’d explained this to us earlier.”
