As the Bougainville traveled through the canal, Eva and Axel fell into a rhythm of taking care of the dolphins and meeting Sarah in the officer’s mess for meals. As Captain, Caleb remained on the bridge during the passage, so their intimate captain’s wardroom meals were on pause. Eva wished Jose would join them for at least one meal a day, but he refused to leave the hold, and seemed happy living on the smoothies that Chief Navarro made for him.
