“Up,” Cheeky said, opening the drapes to let light pour in.
“Why?” Pedro said, remembering his apprentice days when he was being disciplined for delinquency. ‘Up’ then usually meant he was in for a painful lesson.
“I need you to escort Doc,” she answered.
“Isn’t that Brandy’s job?”
“Yes, but she seems to have reassigned herself.”
“Wow, I didn’t know we got to do that!”
“You don"t,” Cheeky informed him. “But humans are fickle, and magic is downright unfathomable.”
Of magic Pedro knew. The wolf, his avatar, was there. Letting him know this mission was of importance. So up he got. Pedro knew to follow his wolf.
