Chapter Thirteen – No Ruler
President Id had the TV on, as he usually did. There was a story that the Second Constitutional Convention had succeeded, but he was not mentioned by name, so he paid little attention. He flipped about the channels hoping for evidence that he still mattered. He found none.
Polite knock on the door. The Secretary of Homeland Security entered. “Sir there is a problem.”
“Not now, I’m watching TV,” the President said.
The show interrupted itself to show San Francisco, burning.
“Hey, did you know San Francisco was burning?” the President asked.
“It"s some of what I came to say, Sir,” the Secretary said.
“Why don’t they put it out?” he asked.
