— D... d... — The cleaning lady trembled violently, not daring to look around anymore. She hurriedly finished sweeping and bolted out of there on all fours. The room door clicked shut, returning the space to a quiet stillness broken only by the soft strains of a ballad.
Dang Phong turned around, his deep gaze locked firmly onto the small girl sitting timidly on the bed. He leisurely stepped closer, his serious expression laced with amusement:
— You... seem to really like taking on other people's chores, don't you?
— Huh...? — Binh Minh looked up, dazed.
— Last time it was picking up the jacket and making the bed. This time you're even picking up glass shards with your bare hands. Are you silly enough not to know how to call the cleaning staff?
At that, the corners of his eyes curved into a smile as he leaned close to her face, dropping his voice with deep implication:
— Or... do you want to use this opportunity to show how attentive you are to me?
Her cheeks burned hot, and she stammered in shyness:
— I... I just felt it wasn't any heavy work. It was right in front of me, and I felt responsible for cleaning it up.
Dang Phong didn't say a word. He reached out, picked up the stack of papers she had neatly arranged just moments ago, tapped them against his palm, and looked at her, his lips twitching into a faint, nonchalant smile:
— Hmm... looks like my future secretary is very responsible. Then what about this pile of documents I crumpled up? Why did you sort them out so neatly? Aren't they all just trash?
She replied in a small voice, yet a spark of determination unique to a business student flickered in her eyes:
— I saw that they were all statistical data. They were documents that could still be useful, so I kept them...
Dang Phong was slightly surprised. He narrowed his eyes at the small girl, his gaze carrying a newfound appraisal:
— You... know how to read data too?
— I'm studying it! — she mumbled in a soft voice.
Dang Phong asked leisurely:
— University?
— Yes, I'm a second-year Business major! — she replied, feeling a bit relieved as the topic shifted to her studies.
Without asking anything further, he stood up and walked toward the wine shelf, leisurely pouring two glasses of sparkling champagne. He stepped back toward the bed, held out a glass to her, his tone softening into one of absolute command:
— Have a drink with me!
Binh Minh hesitated slightly. Seeing his large hand patiently holding the glass out right in front of her, she couldn't refuse. She reached out to take the glass, her fingers accidentally brushing against his, making her start slightly.
Dang Phong signaled for a toast. He downed his drink in a single gulp, his movements decisive and masculine. Binh Minh, on the other hand, only dared to take a tiny sip.
Yet this expensive wine was far stronger than she expected. The moment she swallowed, the fiery, pungent alcohol rushed straight to her nose, making her burst into a fit of coughing.
The potent alcohol instantly made Binh Minh's body burn up. Her fair face flushed pink like peach blossoms, and her wide, round eyes glazed over with a mist of tears as if she were about to cry. That dazed, pitiful look made Dang Phong let out a low chuckle deep in his throat, his eyes full of teasing:
— You don't know how to drink, yet you dare work as a waitress in a bar like this? Didn't you know that your innocent, defenseless little rabbit look makes you an easy, prime "target" for others?
Choking on the wine, Binh Minh raised her tear-filled, glistening eyes to look at him. Struggling to breathe, she panted as she tried to explain:
— Ha... I... I only know how to drink light stuff...
Her voice was tiny, soft, and so alluring that she had no idea it sounded to him like an aphrodisiac, awakening the dormant desires within him.
Dang Phong stepped closer, using one hand to lift her chin, forcing her to look straight into his eyes. He reprimanded her, yet his tone was dripping with seduction:
— You don't know how to drink, and you don't know how to refuse either? Are you foolish enough to let others bully you without knowing how to fight back? Hmm...?
Binh Minh was slightly tipsy, looking at him in a daze. Their eyes locked, the distance so close she could feel his warm, masculine breath and the familiar woody scent radiating from his body. His deep eyes seemed to pull her soul in, and her small lips parted slightly from the alcohol, driving Dang Phong past his limits. He lowered his head and boldly pressed his lips against her plump, red ones.
— Um...
Caught off guard by the kiss, Binh Minh suddenly snapped to her senses and tried to push him away, but a young girl's strength was no match for a seasoned man like him. One minute, two minutes, five minutes passed... His kiss was passionate, relentless, and overwhelming, as if trying to suck every last breath from her lungs. Binh Minh felt her body go limp, her breathing ragged, her heart hammering wildly.
Seeing that Binh Minh couldn't breathe, her small lips completely dazed, Dang Phong finally pulled away with reluctance, the corners of his lips curving into a satisfied smile.
Letting her go, Binh Minh gasped in a huge gulp of air, her tiny face flushed bright red, and she shyly turned her face away to catch her breath.
Dang Phong smiled and gently turned her face back to face him. He looked at her, his eyes filled with indulgence and craving:
— You really are a fool, actually daring to let your guard down around me like this. — His voice dropped lower, full of hypnotic magic.
Without waiting for her reply, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her down onto the bed. Binh Minh panicked slightly, freezing entirely in place, not daring to move. Dang Phong buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling the gentle, natural lily fragrance on her body. That scent drove a mad craving wild within him. Unable to help himself, he gently nipped at the fair skin of her neck. Her body trembled in waves, a feeling of both fear and tingling numbness erupting in her chest.
He chuckled low, using his finger to tap her tiny nose, his tone a mix of scolding and enticement:
— Scared? Yet you keep provoking me like this! This scent, this look... tell me what I should do with you?
— I... I didn't... — Binh Minh whispered in defense, her voice trembling from the alcohol and the intimate proximity.
— I know you have no idea how mesmerizing you look right now. Any man would find it hard to hold back in front of an innocent, defenseless girl like you, you know? — Dang Phong's voice grew husky with desire.
He gently stroked her hair, his gaze softening:
— Go to sleep! I'm going to take a shower!
— You... you just took a shower a moment ago! — Binh Minh asked, bewildered, since he had just washed up and she didn't expect him to go again.
Dang Phong raised his eyebrows at her, a cunning, teasing smile playing on his lips:
— Don't want me to take a shower to cool down this craving? Or... do you want me to "devour" you right now? Hmm...?
— No... — Shyly, Binh Minh pulled the blanket up to completely cover her head, not daring to look at him anymore.
Amused by her cuteness, Dang Phong chuckled and shook his head, walking into the bathroom to turn on the shower. The sound of running water drowned out the frantic heartbeat of the small girl lying on the bed.
About fifteen minutes later, Dang Phong emerged. He had changed into a pair of trousers and a white dress shirt, his cold, CEO persona fully restored. He sat down at the desk, opened his laptop, and resumed working. Glancing at the stack of documents Binh Minh had meticulously and neatly sorted on the desk, he couldn't help but look toward the bed once more.
Closing his laptop, he walked softly over to the bed. Gently pulling the blanket back, he saw that the small girl had fallen fast asleep. Looking at her innocent, radiant face under the bedside lamp, Dang Phong couldn't help letting out a low chuckle.
— You silly girl! Truly letting your guard down completely, how can you sleep so soundly like this?
He murmured, his eyes filled with rare fondness. Strange to say, it had been a very long time since he had found it so easy to laugh this much. Yet after just two encounters, he was already so bewitched by the girl before him that he couldn't resist.
He lowered his head and couldn't resist pressing a light kiss to her lips. A gentle kiss, lacking the burning heat of earlier, but filled with a protective instinct.
It had been seven years! He had completely locked away his heart, feeling no further need for romance or desire. Yet meeting just this one person, catching just this scent... and he couldn't hold back anymore.
Intending merely to tease, he never expected that the one who would truly get "hooked" was himself.
He smiled foolishly, then gently lay down, pulling her into his arms. The scent of lilies on her body brought him a strange, comforting peace as he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
In his sleep, he relived the time he was abandoned by that girl. He held her hand, begging her to stay. Humbly kneeling down to plead with her.
— Please. Linh. Please stay! Please don't leave me. I've lost everything. I can't lose you.
The girl pushed his hand away, cold and detached:
— I'm sorry! I love you very much! But it took so much effort for me to get the study-abroad scholarship I've always wanted. Don't you want me to achieve my dream? Don't you love me?
— That guy Jayson is clearly no good. He just wants to use you! You...
— Enough! Bottom line is, if you won't help me, then don't stand in my way! I love you. But love isn't everything to me.
— LET'S BREAK UP!
