Chapter Six

686 Words
The party went on like nothing wrong had just happened. I was being given away against my will. How could they have decided such a thing in my absence? I needed to find Edwin Kingston at least. Maybe he would talk some sense into his son. It was one thing to reject me as his mate. As much as it hurt me physically and emotionally, I couldn't live with it. But giving me away like some candy on Halloween. It just didn't make any sense! My feet came to a halt as I walked past the slightly open door of a room. My eyes had caught the rude emerald eyes of Guy from earlier and standing next to him were copies of himself! I almost gasped, letting them know I was there. The one with the gray eyes from before as well and another with deep blue eyes. They all looked just as unhappy as I felt. “Why do we have to accept his trash when we don't want it?” The green-eyed one questioned. “I mean, I heard that she was his mate, but he rejected her straight up, why? Because she is useless to him.” My heart sunk at his words even though he had always been rude to me. So they were the Kennedy brothers. The one with gray eyes touched his shoulder. “Tim, as much as I don't want her, we cannot reject her. This is a threat, remember? It would create bad blood between the silver thistle and the crimson colony pack, which is far from what we want. Dad won't be pleased if we mess things up just because of this.” “But Theo,” the third one spoke up. “Tim is right." "We are not against the treaty, we just don't want some useless girl walking about in our hallway. We are leaving her in our pack for f***s sake!” “Relax Tom,” Theo said calmly. He spoke with the tenderness of an older sibling. “I get it, I really do. We'll figure something out later but right now, we have to accept her.” The glumness on their faces deepened. I felt tears prick at my eyes where I stood. I wasn't wanted anywhere. Why was I still even around? But now things had become too complicated for me to leave. Since they hated me so much, maybe they would allow me to leave. I hurried back to my room before they could spot me. Tim'S POV “We shouldn't even have come here in the first place.” I couldn't hide my disappointment. Theo tried to calm me down but all I wanted was to be out of there. “Let's go, she'll meet us by car in a few minutes.” I turned towards the door and walked out. I sighted her running down the hall and taking a left. She must have heard our conversation. With a sigh, I left the hall with my brothers behind me. We all stood by our car waiting for our “treaty” to arrive. Only a few minutes later, she walked like a person with the weight of the world on her shoulders towards us. Dragging her feet lazily. She stopped in front of me, eyes threatening to spill tears and her face contorted with fear. The whole sympathetic look made me feel angry. She was almost half of my height, her head barely reaching up to my shoulders. I reached for her bag and took it from her to place it in the booth when a sweet honeyed scent filled up my nostrils. It felt so strong I could feel it all the way to my bones. My wolf, Elliot, was leaping with excitement inside of me. Something he had never done before. I turned to look at my brothers and realized they were feeling the same thing too. Such a strong feeling had always meant one thing in the history of werewolves and one thing alone. Elliot's words echoed in my head as he exclaimed, ‘Mate!’
