PIPPA RECOVERS FROM HER INJURIES and is back to work four days after her accident, in part due to Joshua’s tender loving care.
Days creep by. Autumn has turned to winter. And Joshua is still single as is Pippa.
It is getting very close to his birthday, and honestly, truthfully, he would rather not spend it alone. He goes to work and immediately homes in on Pippa. He normally waves to her, then heads straight to the locker room, changes into sports clothes, and hits the treadmill. Only after he has done all that would he chat her up, but not today.
Today, he sits next to Pippa, adjusts the chair so he can recline his body, locks his fingers behind his head and dramatically exhales, which she finds funny. ‘What’s up with you?’
‘It’s my birthday tomorrow.’
She squeals, ‘Happy birthday!’
