CHAPTER 5She woke without the hangover she had the pleasure of experiencing the morning before. Thank goodness. That ‘Juice’ was like nothing she had ever had before. She was fairly well acquainted with alcohol but that stuff was just plain brutal. After the accident and the long recuperation her tolerance had dipped a bit, but her return to work reviewing bands raised it back up. The way Shane drank it, you would think it was mother’s milk. He made it look easy. And it was. The ‘Juice’ would go down easy. It couldn’t be described as smooth, not like an aged scotch, but it had a mollifying quality behind its lethal bite. The stuff had a friggin’ personality, and a very likable one at that. The problem with it was that it had some pretty serious issues the next day. It was harsh and cruel.
