A love affair

*Chapter 4: The Aftermath*

Sandra collapsed onto the couch, her body trembling with exhaustion and fear. The police had taken her statement, and she had given them as much information as she could about Alexander and his operation. They had assured her that she was safe, that they would protect her, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was still in danger.

As she sat there, trying to process everything that had happened, her phone rang. She hesitated, unsure if she should answer it. But something told her she had to.

"Hello?" she said, her voice shaking.

"Sandra, it's Detective Thompson. I need to talk to you about Alexander's case."

Sandra's grip on the phone tightened. "What is it?"

"We found something in Alexander's records," the detective said, his voice serious. "Something that changes everything."

Sandra's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"

"We found a file, Sandra. A file that suggests you're not who you think you are."

Sandra's mind reeled. What did he mean? She was Sandra Okafor, a journalist from Lagos. She knew who she was.

But as she listened to the detective's words, she felt a creeping sense of doubt. What if she didn't know who she was? What if everything she thought she knew was a lie?

The detective's words echoed in her mind, taunting her. You're not who you think you are. You're not who you think you are.

Sandra's grip on reality began to slip. She felt like she was floating, lost in a sea of uncertainty.

"Who am I?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "That's what we need to find out, Sandra."

As the detective's words sank in, Sandra felt a sense of unease wash over her. She was trapped in a web of secrets and lies, and she didn't know how to escape.

She looked around her apartment, feeling like a stranger in her own home. She didn't know who she was, or what she was capable of.

The phone slipped from her hand, and she was plunged into darkness.
