Chapter 5 Your Mate is Here

1004 Words
RAFAEL'S POV "What do we need to talk about?" Lucian asked while pulling a seat. I also had a seat and crossed my arms, "We are all ears," I mumbled, looking straight into his eyes. The principal pulled his long beard and let out a hollow laugh, "I'm sure you've seen your dormmate. Judging by the anger on your faces, it seems he's not the kind of person you expected, right?" He asked, his eyes filled with very annoying amusement. "I'm glad you know. What will you do now? We've waited for so long for that piece of trash, we need to graduate as soon as possible!" Lucian was no longer having it. He was very angry. So, was I. "You should find us a better dormmate so we can complete the requirement," I muttered. The Principal looked at us and gently shook his head. He laughed again, "I do not understand why you guys are in so much haste. A prophesy has been given that your mate will find you here. You were told to stay here and wait for your mate, why do you want to go out to search for her so much?" He asked and my stomach churned. I could feel my heart getting colder as I glared at the old principal, "Wait for our mate here? And you think that's feasible? How can we find our mate in this academy that is filled with a stench of sweat and masculine aura? Are you telling us to wait for a woman to enter this academy when you know fully well that she would be killed on sight?!" I asked, my eyes turning fierce. "Oh?" The principal's eyes widened and he rubbed his brows, "I think you're right," He mumbled and sighed. He relaxed his back, his gaze turning lazy, "But I still think that the prophecy can't be wrong. I can feel it," "With what?" Lucian asked. The old principal pointed to his chest and smiled, "With this. Old hearts don't lie. I can tell," He replied and let out a low chuckle. I shared a glance with Lucian, who already had his fingers clenched into a fist, and I growled, "This is crazy, Principal! I think you are intentionally doing this to us!" I yelled and stood up, The man might be old but he was very strong. Apart from that, he was also a member of the high council. All these made it difficult for us to influence him, even with our powers and prestige. That was the annoying part. "How about this?" He rested forward and looked at us with keen interest, "Take Nate back into your room and form a team with him, How about that? Does it not sound nice?" His eyes sparkled as he asked. However, he was the only one enjoying this situation as every word that came out of his mouth was enough to make him lose a few teeth! "Let's go, Lucian," I said and stood up. "This man is insane," I growled, glared at the principal, and walked out of the damn office. My steps toward the room were heavy; I found it hard to believe this was going to be our fate from now on. The Principal seemed to not be ready to help us, and we only had two choices. Either take Nate as our team member or stay longer in the school. The two choices were troubling and annoying to the core. However, with our strength, it would only be a piece of cake to complete the last task even if our team member was a useless waste... "Lucian," I closed the call and called. Lucian raised a brow, "Hm?" "I think the old man has a point. What if we invite Nate to be our teammate so we can complete this last mission? It doesn't matter anyway. We are both strong enough to do everything by ourselves and Nate will only be a space keeper for us. What do you think?" I decided to bring forth the question. Lucian's expression suddenly darkened and his eyes turned icy cold. He glared at me for a while before he looked away and snorted, "I'd rather wait for our mate to meet us here than let that useless brat join us!" He declared and stormed out of the room. I stared at the door for a while, unable to decide on anything. I didn't want him to join us either but we had no choice here! Seeing the situation, I also stood up and left the room for a walk and fresh air. My heart was heavy and I was a bit confused. I couldn't help but wonder why Lucian hated Nate so much when they only just met today. If it was because we've been waiting for him for so long, then he should have accepted him as a space keeper so we could start our assessment but that didn't seem to be the case. Lucian hated him deeply and that somehow bothered me... My mind wouldn't stop imagining the day we would meet our mate for the first time and I couldn't stop asking myself what kind of person she would be either. I wondered what kind of personality she would entail as Lucian and I had different tastes in women~ He preferred the wild women; he claimed they made him feel complete, while I fancied the delicate and alluring ones. However, we were ready to mate only one woman as that was the fate of twin Alphas. My feet suddenly stopped, and I looked into the distance. My eyes caught a figure scurrying away like a scared rat and the corner of my lips curved up. The person seemed to be Nate, who was probably planning to leave the academy after what happened earlier. I stared at the disappearing figure for a while and let out a deep breath. Somehow, I felt like that wouldn't be the last time I would see him... Nate, Oh, Nate!
