Chapter 16 When Lisle and Sarah emerged Daniel studied Sarah carefully. Her eyes were red from crying, but she stood tall. As they joined Daniel he bowed to Lisle. “Thank you for your directions,” he said. “As I said, I’m glad I could help.” Despite her words Daniel could tell she was pleased by his gesture. “I wish I could do something about your scars,” Daniel said gently, hoping not to offend Lisle.
