Chapter 18 Daniel finally managed to form his probe correctly to bounce from the second pattern and strike the third, but from there it went the wrong way. There was only a tiny gap that he could exploit if he got the angle right, but refining the probe was now an order of magnitude more difficult than before. Changes in direction the width of a human hair sent the probe off in wildly different directions. He was exhausted. Sweat poured down his face and some of his wounds had started seeping blood again.
