Chapter 22
Daniel searched every inch of the inner walls, the floor and the ceiling. No matter how carefully he looked there wasn’t a single switch to be found. Finally he turned his attention to the outer wall, without any real hope. To his surprise he found a single switch circuit midway along the wall. He motioned Josef over.
“You’ve found something?” Josef asked.
“Yes, though I am not sure what. There are no other doors, no switches in the floor or ceiling, but there is one here on the outer wall.”
“Strange place to put a door. There’s no pulley mechanism so I doubt it’s for deliveries, though maybe the pulley is long gone. What else could it be?”
“A window maybe? Or maybe this is not the outer wall. It may be a door leading to a corridor or a small room.”
