"What? He's out this early?" She almost tripped on her laces as she jumped up. Apparently she hadn't fully laced them.
Ben: "It is 1100 hundred hours!"
Holy cow. She had no idea how long she had slept. There were no windows in Charlie's quarters. No wonder the sandwiches were cold. She fixed her boots and pushed past Charlie in a rush. Turns out her brief was not so brief and even less productive than the meeting. At least she was dressed before Ben stormed in. She was embarrassed enough by the Charlie situation already. The way Ben had lurked to watch her stand for Charlie like she did was now a permanent tattoo in her mind. She'd get to the dang sick bay and then find her brother and pack the rest of her belingings. She was glad she was leaving this god-forsaken city.
Charlie sensed her urgency to flee and grabbed her arm, stopping her dead in her tracks. He let out a deep growl and turned to Ben. He simply shook his head sternly. She could see the fire in Ben's eyes but Charlie wasn't backing down.
Ben: "D*mnit Reynard. Get your priorities straight." He threw his hands up before slamming the door, cursing on his way down the hall.
Charlie: "It's sure Adam is fine and Ben's just flexing his muscles because he is unhappy I chose you."
"He couldn't care less about me."
Charlie: "Very perceptive. He doesn't give a crap about you. However, he does care for your brother and how your assistance in this mission may affect Adam's performance. And I'm not having my new pet running off to triage to get covered in wolf blood. Besides. You still don't understand your mission. Or apparently your place. So turn around, and assume the position!"
He couldn't be serious, again? Now he was just trying to humiliate her. Before she could reject him, he had spun her around and held her head to the mattress.
Charlie:"This IS your mission. When you go to infiltrate their ranks, it will be you that is infiltrated. Over and over again with as many humans as you have to until you learn what I need to know. As much as that disgusts me, those dirty humans, you will come back to ME! Am I making myself clear?"
Lena gasped for air as she pulled her face from the covers.
"Crystal"
She expected him to tear her pants off right then and there, but he remained still. He was breathing heavily while he pressed himself against her backside. She could feel him bulge and hot flashes began deep inside her. She instinctively began gyrating her hips when she felt a sharp pain. His claws were digging into her cheek.
Charlie: "Speak."
"I will do it. Whatever you want."
Charlie: "Good, then finish your breakfast. You will need your strength. We will resume your training later."
They sat in silence for almost half an hour. His arms crossed over his massive frame. Staring at her while she ate. It truly was delicious and she felt like she hadn't eaten in days. The bacon was still crisp and moist. She didn't even care that the cheese was cold and solid. She did notice that every time she licked her lips, he did too. She stared back at him for a few minutes before mustering up the courage to speak.
"Why do I have to sleep with them?"
Charlie: "You won't be able to resist. You already want more. When winter is over, my interest will fade. You will crave me, but I won't care. They have the information I need. You will get it for me. In return, next year you will be rewarded for all your practice."
He chuckled at how she blushed. He'd been debating with himself in silence about how much to tell her. He needed her to trust him enough to succeed or lusting enough to obey without questioning his orders. He knew his control over her was the key to his plans. She would be a hard one to break and seemed so tense. Perhaps a softer approach?
Charlie: "Relax doll, when you go to the cabin, I will petition for Adam to be transferred to my surveillance detail. I can keep an eye on him for you and keep him off the front line."
She smiled. Nodding shyly. She felt horrible that she hadn't thought about her brother since she woke and then found out he'd not come back yet.
"I appreciate that, thank you."
Somehow, she got the feeling her brother was fine. And Charlie was right, she did want more already, more sleep. She yawned and laid back down on the bed.
"I will need to head back for my jeep soon. Go home and ... start packing." It was if the words just faded away into the darkness. The bed was like a cloud, engulfing her. She could feel Charlie putting a blanket over her and untying her hair from the bun. As she drifted off to sleep, all she could picture was those large grey eyes, almost a hint of purple this time, and that long brown hair. It was as if it was her that was tucking Lena in.
