Committee Decisions
Drs. Gomez and Xie, and Nelson the bot, were sitting right back outside the opaque glass door again. Precisely at 0900 hourunits, the glass cleared up and opened. Bots on the inside ushered them in. This time, they took their seats.
Dr. Bandhuram, two other scientists, and librarians representing the management were present on behalf of the ethics committee. The holographic panel members had already signed off from the meeting. Dr. Bandhuram addressed them directly.
“Randomly assigned, the first to speak today will be Nelson the bot.”
Nelson replied smoothly, “I choose to expand my expertise and would like to visit other planets. I had never considered traveling before this juncture, and I believe it will be a lovely experience.”
