I froze, gawking at Melonie in confusion.
She continued, “I breathe nothing but terror and pain just like the others said.”
I pulled her hand, “They don't mean whatever they said, Melonie,”
“Just listen to me Arwan,” she responded coldly, “If you stay with me… your life would be in danger.”
“Still, I will stay.” I growled back, “I'll stay with you forever.”
She pulled her hands away from mine and stepped back in panic, “I killed you Arwan. So you are dead to me!”
I stood there, frozen in confusion, as I watched her talk.
