Chapter 4: Mr Undercover

1760 Words
THE NEXT DAY ‎ ‎ ‎ Immaculate University ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ It was the second day of resumption, and the campus was already more alive and organized than yesterday. Students crowded the walkways, still busy showing off their outfits — a normal competition for them, comparing and whispering behind each other’s backs. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Kian rode into the school on his long, sleek bike, Sophia seated behind him. Heads turned instantly, eyes following them like shadows. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ He didn’t even realize he had already been “named.” Students had started giving him titles of their own: ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ 180cm — because of his towering height. ‎ ‎ ‎ Rocket. Jet — because of the sharp roar of his bike. ‎ ‎ ‎ Undercover — because his face was always hidden. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Kian was confused when he noticed different eyes on him after he parked. Sophia had already gotten down, fixing her hair, when she realized he still hadn’t moved. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Aren’t you going to come down and remove your helmet?” she asked. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ "Eyes" Kian mumbled, still sitting stiff. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Sophia frowned, then turned toward the cluster of students staring at them. She marched forward. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “What are you looking at? Shoo off!” she glared. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The students started leaving one by one. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “The world cleared. Come down, Your Royal Highness,” she said. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Stop it,” Kian scoffed, finally stepping off the bike. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ He removed his helmet and quickly pulled on his facemask. Unknown to him, some fast-strikers had already snapped a picture of him in just two seconds. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Hey, dude!” someone called from behind. Sophia turned, but Kian didn’t. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Isn’t that guy calling you?” Sophia asked. Kian finally turned, glancing at Knox, who was walking toward them with a grin plastered on his face. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Hey, friend,” Knox said cheerfully. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Wow, I didn’t know you had a new friend,” Sophia teased, smiling at Kian. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “He’s not my friend,” Kian mumbled under his breath. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “So you do talk,” Knox said, coming closer. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Sophia waved goodbye. “See you later,” she said, heading for her lecture. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Do you still remember my name?” Nox asked as he and Kian started toward the hall. “It’s Knox. My father is the best friend of our mafia godfather in Russia. And you?” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “I’m not mafia,” Kian muttered. “I’m just an ordinary boy. A weak one. Don’t expect anything from me.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “So… what about your name?” Knox pressed. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Kian,” he replied quietly. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Cool name,” Knox said with a smile. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “I know.” Kian scoffed and walked away. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “You’re still trying to be friends with that weirdo?” a voice said from behind. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Knox turned to see the same guy from yesterday staring at him. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Yeah, I know. He’s cool,” knox answered simply. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Okay. I’ve heard. Davin.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Knox,” Knox replied. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “I know,” Davin said. “I do see you around.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Alright. See ya.” Knox waved and walked off. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Natasha, queen of Immaculate University, was admired for her shape and beauty. She was the head cheerleader—and a b***h. ‎ ‎ ‎ Her greatest enemy? Adeline. ‎ ‎ ‎ Why? For existing. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ That afternoon, Natasha was strutting across campus in a tiny bombshort that barely covered her butt cheeks and a cropped tank top. Every sway of her hips screamed for attention. Spotting Lutana, the son of the mafia godfather in Russia, she smiled and walked straight toward him. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Hi, baby,” she purred, leaning in to kiss him. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “What? You know you can’t kiss me in public. Not like we’re official or anything.” Lutana chuckled, almost carelessly. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Huh? What do you mean?” Natasha frowned. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “You know what I mean, Natasha. I don’t do PDA. We’re only fuckmates.” His tone was cold, deliberate. “Emphasis on fuckmates.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Her mouth dropped open. “So don’t cross the boundary,” Lutana finished, turning away. “Meet me at my mansion tonight.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ He left her standing there, speechless. Then, mid-stride, he caught sight of Adeline walking with her friends. His eyes lingered, as if drawn. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Natasha clenched her fists. “What does that even mean? No PDA? Is he mad?” she muttered, stamping her feet angrily. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “It’s because of her,” her friend Shine said beside her, nodding at Adeline. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Yes… Shine, you wouldn’t notice me until Adeline had left the picture. And I’ll make sure of it,” Natasha hissed, her eyes burning with envy. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ --- ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Later that day, Adeline and her friends, with Chloe at her side, were heading toward the cafeteria. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Adeline!” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ It was Lutana again. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Her friends exchanged quick glances, then quietly excused themselves, leaving her face-to-face with him. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Adeline groaned. “What is it this time?” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “You know what I want,” Lutana said, staring at her intently. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Adeline tilted her head, lips curving in a sly smirk. “My p***y?” she asked slowly. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “What? No.” His voice wavered, then steadied. “I… I love you.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Adeline laughed dryly. “You don’t have to fake love just to get a p***y to f**k. But one thing’s for sure—you ain’t ever getting mine.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Without waiting for his response, she turned and walked out, her figure disappearing into the cafeteria crowd. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Lutana stood frozen, confusion all over his face. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ NOON ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Sophia was walking down the hallway when she bumped into someone, and the person’s water bottle fell. She picked it up and looked up — straight into the angry eyes of Adeline. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Oh my god, she’s dead.” ‎ ‎ ‎ “I know, Adeline doesn’t spare.” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Sophia quietly handed the bottle back. Adeline collected it, then emptied the water all over her. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Gasps filled the hallway. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Then slap! Adeline struck Sophia’s cheek. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ She raised her hand to slap again — but it was caught mid-air. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “Don’t you dare lay a finger on her again,” Kian mumbled, stepping into view. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ He took off his hoodie, leaving only his face cap and mask, and wrapped the hoodie around Sophia’s soaked body. Gently, he tried leading her away. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Whispers broke out in the crowd: ‎ ‎ ‎ “He’s just my type. A total green flag.” ‎ ‎ ‎ “Not just a green flag — he’s a whole forest.” ‎ ‎ ‎ “Love you, Mr. Undercover!” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Adeline yanked him by the shirt, yelling. Kian only glared back, calm but firm. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ "Are you mad huh? You think I give a f**k cause you dress like a zombie too school huh" Adeline shouted ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ "I am not one of your foolish fan girls. So if you don't want to me to make you schooling here a nightmare don't intervene in my personal matters" she continued. ‎ ‎ ‎ "I am not interested in your matters and I also don't like when people tries to bully people close to me" Kian replied calmly but firmly. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Immediately lotana saw the scene and rushed to punch Kian but was held firmly by someone ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ "Touch him and die" Catherine glared at lotana ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The students went gaga. ‎ ‎ ‎ “Oh my God, thank God I came to school today.” ‎ ‎ ‎ “Couldn’t have missed this for the world!” ‎ ‎ ‎ “What’s gonna happen next?” ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Kian gently led Sophia out of the hallway, leaving the students’ mouths hanging open in shock. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Adeline stormed off angrily, Lotana trailing after her. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Catherine stayed a moment longer, her eyes narrowed and calculating, before she finally turned and walked away too. ‎
