  When I finally came to, the first thing I registered was the pain. It had reduced but my head was furiously throbbing. My brain tried to process why my head hurts so much but it drew a blank. I slowly forced my eyes open and looked around. I felt a slight twinge of fear when I realized I was in a strange room that was very obviously not mine.
