Derry’s POV.
I wait a few moments before following Rose into the bedroom.
“I rejected him,” Mickey sobs. Rose looks at me with concern on her face.
“Where is Stone?” she asks me.
“He went home. Hawk is going to check on him,”
“He's a strong man, and he has Holly, he will survive this,” Rose nods. I'm not sure who she is trying to reassure more, me, Mickey or herself.
“What do you mean survive?” Mickey asks, his voice weak now.
“Oh Mickey dear, did no one explain the process of rejection to you?” Rose says softly, but I can hear the undertone of anger in her voice.
“Stone told me the words to say. I repeated them after him,”
