The crisp winter air stung Holly’s cheeks as she walked toward the sculpture area. Jack had practically begged her to help him with one of his projects today, claiming it was “urgent.” Knowing him, it was probably just another excuse to rope her into some holiday nonsense. She’d almost said no. Almost. But now, here she was, trudging through the snow, half-annoyed, half-curious about what “emergency” Jack had cooked up this time. The festival grounds were alive with activity. Sculptors in thick coats worked on massive blocks of snow and ice, the rhythmic scrape of chisels blending with the hum of conversation.
