Chapter 5

537 Words
Lisa “No stop don’t hurt me!!!”  I started to scream in my sleep. “I promise that I will not tell anyone.” The nightmare just kept coming. The nightmare would not let me go. Finally I was able to wake up with a loud scream coming out of my throat. My bedroom door was thrown open with Cameron running into my room like the hounds of hell were on her heels. “Are you ok! Please tell me you are ok?” Cameron screamed at me as she proceeded to shake my shoulders. “PLEASE tell me! SPEAK!” Cameron just kept shaking me. “I am fine please stop shaking me.” I whispered out to try and get Cameron to stop shaking me. Cameron finally stopped shaking me but she did keep her arm around my shoulders as she sat beside me.  I laid my head on her should and just took some deep breaths. “I am fine it was just a bad one this time. I just need to take some deep breaths and I will be better I promise.” “Girl this one was really bad. It might be time for you to go and see your dad.” Cameron rubbed my back as she left my head on her shoulder. I just did not want to think about going to see my dad. I just did not want to live through all that again. But then again I seemed to be going through it again already. “I guess it is time to go to him and see if he can help me again. At least this time I did last longer before the nightmares came back.” I mumbled into her shoulder as we sat on my bed with my sheets tangled around my legs. After about ten minutes we both laid down on my bed as sleep started to come over the both of us. The smell of coffee was in the air as I wiped the sleep from my eyes. I rolled over on the bed to get to my feet. I was like the walking dead this morning. My eyes were swollen from all the crying that I had done. I made my way down the hall to the kitchen but when I turned around the corner I did expect to see what I saw. “Hey baby. I hear you had a rough night last night.” My dad was standing there with a cup of coffee in his hand with his arms opened up to hold me. I ran right into his arms for that hug that has always made everything better no matter what is going on. “I am here for you baby and you know that. Lets spend the day together. You can even come to practice and yell at the entire football team.” My dad jokenly tells me as he kept his arms around me the entire time. All I could do is to cry and hold on tight to my wonderful dad. I never had to use words he always seemed to know what would make everything feel better when he was around.
