Ted turned around and watched as the creature took another strike at the building. Its contours were barely visible through the battered frontage.
A deafening boom rattled from within the mall. The hulk of a creature squealed and pummeled the front from within.
"It’s trying to get out!" Rose said, "the fire must be upsetting it!"
Jeffrey looked over Rose’s shoulder. He saw several armed officers hop out of a police van. The rest of the officers exited their cars and approached the front of the building.
