Kara's POV
I paced my small apartment, the walls closing in on me. My phone buzzed for the hundredth time. Alex again. I sighed, finally picking up.
"What?" I snapped.
"Kara, thank the Moon Goddess," Alex's voice crackled through. "I've been trying to reach you for hours!"
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I noticed. What's so urgent?"
There was a pause. "It's... it's about Kimberly. And the former Alpha's death."
My heart skipped a beat. "What about it?"
"I have proof," Alex said, his voice low. "Proof that she was involved."
The room spun. I gripped the counter to steady myself. "What kind of proof?"
"Emails, bank transfers. It's all here, Kara. We can clear your name."
I laughed bitterly. "Clear my name? It's a little late for that, don't you think?"
"It's never too late," Alex insist
