Axel's POV The chaos had finally died down. The Purifiers and their creepy robot wolves had retreated, leaving us to lick our wounds and count our losses. But I couldn't shake the image of Sarah - my sister, my best friend - standing among the enemy, her eyes glowing that unnatural blue. I slumped against a tree, my head in my hands. How did everything go so wrong? "Hey there, sunshine. You look like you could use a drink." I looked up to see Kimberly standing over me, a bottle of water in her hand. She looked as beat up as I felt. "Thanks," I muttered, taking the bottle. "Though I was hoping for something stronger." She plopped down next to me with a grunt. "Yeah, well, beggars can't be choosers. So, want to talk about it?" I took a long swig of water before answering. "About what?
