Ava’s POV
The warning sank into the deepest part of my skull, seething into my brain. I don't think I can ever forget it.
“I'll pay more than just normal attention, but I won't stop thinking about you,” I replied. My stubbornness was intact. I couldn't pay attention and forget about him—his face, his touch, his c**k. That's what kept me going.
“So, aside from the academic topics, tell me what else went on at school,” he demanded. “I hope you didn't meet with any guys in class.”
It was always about "guys" with him. I never knew he was this jealous.
“No, I made a friend, but it wasn't a guy.” I beamed with a smile, hoping his heart would be at peace.
“Good!” He smiled. “What's her name?”
“Melissa. The Beta's sister.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah,” I pressed. “She's my new friend.”
“How is she?” I lifted my face, wanting to know more.
“She's lovely. Flirty,” he chuckled. “You will really enjoy her as a friend.”
Seeing his eyes glow, I arched my brows. “Are you sure you're just fond of her... or are you flirting with her?”
I began to talk about my new friend, and he listened and nodded. Xavier reversed the car, about to drive off. “I'm glad your first day of school was exciting.” He flashed another grin.
He turned the car and drove toward the campus gate. Along the way out, I recalled something I felt I needed to tell him. I found myself wanting to impress him with the details.
“I even answered a question in class—about the cervix. Everyone looked at me. I was nervous because of my short skirt, but I managed to get past the looks from the students,” I shrugged. “I wondered how the Professor even knew my name.”
He burst out laughing. I grinned, waiting for a response.
“Before you even got in there, I’d introduced you to all of my colleagues—I mean, subordinates. So, they all know you.”
“Wow. Oh my goddess.” I sat up and looked out the window, grinning from ear to ear.
For the next few minutes, we rode in silence, but it wasn't the awkward kind. It was a silence mixed with bliss. I was still grinning. Daddy’s hands rested easily on the wheel, his focus on the road before us. My sight caught the veins along his forearms, and I couldn’t stop looking. Something about the way he drove—steady and powerful—made me feel both safe and restless at the same time.
My mind began to drift. I imagined those same hands not on the wheel, but on me. I imagined the way they’d hold me firmly, making everything else disappear until it was only us. The memory of earlier bounced back: the smacks, his fingers curling against the walls of my p***y.
My breathing changed, just a little. My thighs pressed together without thinking. I bit my lip, staring at the road ahead but seeing something entirely different in my head. Erotic scenarios unfolded; I was watching them like movies. His scent and cologne mixed together, rocking my senses. Being so close to him gave me the thrills. My wolf was trapped, demanding attention. Every imagined detail sent a pulse through me, more intense than the last.
I shouldn’t be thinking this way. Not now, while sitting beside him in a moving car. I didn't want to distract him. But it was impossible to stop. It was like my brain had its own gravity, and everything about him pulled me in deeper.
The air inside the car suddenly felt thicker. I stole a sideways glance. His expression was still serious, focused on the road. But then his nostrils flared faintly. It was a tiny movement, but unmistakable. My heart skipped a beat.
Oh no. His wolf. He could sense it.
The realization hit me deeply. My breath caught, and I froze in place. Heat flooded my skin and my core. I didn’t dare move. I didn’t dare blink. He turned his head slowly, his gaze catching mine. His eyes were darker now, more radiant; they burned with a deep lust.
Hell no! You're driving. I don't want to distract you, I muttered to him through our mindlink.
His Adam's apple moved with a heavy gulp as he turned back to the road. I heaved a sigh of relief. Right now, I didn't know what to do. For a few endless seconds, neither of us spoke. The world outside blurred past. My pulse roared in my ears. Then his gaze held mine again—steady and all-knowing.
“Ava,” he said softly. My name sounded different in his mouth just then—heavier, charged with a spark. I swallowed hard, unable to answer.
The corner of his mouth twitched. He turned his eyes back to the road, back into his "serious mode." I didn't want him distracted, and he clearly didn't want to be, either. But something had shifted between us. The silence wasn’t normal anymore; it was intense, making the awkwardness feel even more charged.
I pressed my hands against my skirt to keep them still. My thoughts were a mess of embarrassment, thrill, and something deeper I couldn’t quite name. Then, suddenly, he took a turn that wasn’t toward the pack estate.
I blinked, confused. “Where are we going?”
His hands tightened slightly on the wheel. “The pack hospital.”
“Have you forgotten?” It almost sounded strange coming from him.
“Are you ill? Or going to work? I thought we were going home to—” I let my words linger. He had to know what I meant.
“We're going to the hospital.” His lips twitched.
My stomach flipped. “The hospital? Why?”
A quick thought brushed my mind. “Oh no! I remember now. I recall now!”
The widest blush visited my face. My whole body rocked with a giggle. I performed a short, swift dance in my seat, snapping my fingers. “Let's go there!”
He feigned a frown, but I knew it was fake. He was trying to hide his excitement and emotion. His eyes remained fixed on the road ahead. The setting sun cast a glow across his face, adding more charm to his features. He looked both mysterious and commanding.
“You need a check-up as well. Get ready to undress before me.”
My jaw dropped, my palms covering my lips. Each time something erotic came up, it felt like the very first time. That's why I could never get tired of him. My heart thudded faster. I stared at him, blushing intensely.
The car sped on, and thoughts of school faded behind me. No more words were spoken. Our hearts were set on the test ahead. I was pretty sure that if an injection was needed, he would be the one to give it to me.
Since you're going to inject me with drugs, inject your c**k into my p***y right after, I thought. I giggled, hiding my face, but I saw his deep grin from the corner of my eye before I turned away.
He chuckled. Whatever was waiting at the hospital, I knew this wasn’t just a casual drive anymore.
