CHAPTER 11

1706 Words
Ava's POV The car turned onto a busy street. Somehow, I guessed we were close to my new college. My body still hummed from what had happened earlier. My fingers played with the hem of my skirt, and I kept sneaking glances at Xavier’s face. He was focused on the road as though he were the driver; even the actual driver wasn't this focused. He had switched quickly into "serious mode." I stared, feeling amused. He looked so stern, as if nothing had happened between us just minutes ago. I shifted closer to him on the seat. The faint smell of his cologne filled the car—it was strong and seductive. Coupled with his natural scent, it would blow any girl away. My heart fluttered again. Irresistible. That’s what he was. “Are you always this quiet after?” I asked softly. His eyes stayed forward. “Ava, we’re almost at the college. Behave yourself.” His tone was firm and Alpha-like, but that only made me want to poke at him more. I tilted my head and smiled. “You sound like my dad,” I whispered. He finally glanced at me—one quick side-look. “Enough,” he warned. I bit my lip and leaned back, but inside, I liked that strict edge in his voice. He was so different now that I felt partially confused and partially worried. I wondered when he would switch back to his previous mode. We arrived. I didn't need anyone to tell me; the scenery changed, and I knew it. I was about to start a new life and chase my dream. I needed to leave all distractions behind as I started medical school, but I couldn't leave the one beside me. My hot, sexy daddy. Alpha Xavier. If I had to choose between school and him, I would most likely choose him. From the giant gate to the wide lawns, the huge glass buildings were surrounded by the buzzing sounds of students. They were dressed casually with backpacks and handbags. Some walked in groups, others alone, and some walked with their daddies. I wondered if those were "daddies" like mine. Some walked with their moms, too. From a first glance, I could tell those walking with their parents were freshmen, just like me. I looked to my side. I had my own daddy. The sign at the center of the entrance read: RavenHills College of Medicine (Affiliated with University of California). As we drove in, more students came into sight, walking around in summer clothes and laughing in groups. My stomach tightened. This was it. My new school. My new life. The car slowed to a halt. Xavier tapped the driver, and we stepped out from both sides. “This is the administrative block,” he said to me. I walked to grab his hand, forgetting we were outside, but he drifted away. I froze as his warning flashed in my mind. He turned off the engine and looked at me finally. “We’ll get your registration done. After that, I’ll drop you at your class.” I hated how formal he sounded, like we hadn’t just done something wild together back in the car. I knew I had to endure it, but my body wouldn't understand. I was addicted to him. He raised an eyebrow. “Ava.” “I'm sorry,” I muttered. Taking to my heels, I moved swiftly behind him. Students glanced our way, mostly at him—the girls especially. I let out a frown. “I hope you don't show your jealousy seeing others stare or mingle with me,” he teased. “I'm a women's doctor, after all.” He let out a mischievous grin. My eyes darkened. I turned away. The thought of him watching another girl undress, checking her, or watching her flirt with him in the name of a medical checkup... No! I couldn't bear it. The stares didn't stop despite the tight frown on my face. At some point, I realized frowning wouldn't help. Maybe I needed to put on a flirty face, like I was his girl. That would certainly help. Alpha Xavier was tall, broad-shouldered, majestic, and seductive. He had all the qualities a girl would need in a man. He walked like he owned the whole space. I felt a tiny spark of pride walking beside him. Inside the admin building, the cold from the air-conditioning hit my skin. The aura was cold, too. Everyone looked so serious, as if they were performing surgery. It was a place where I would have felt nervous walking in alone, but seeing Xavier by my side brought my confidence back. Xavier walked straight to the “New Students” counter with long, confident strides. I hurried to keep up. The lady behind the counter smiled too wide when she saw him. “Good afternoon, Alpha. What are you here to do today?” “I'm her guardian. She came to live with me,” he said, pointing to me. The smile on the lady's face vanished. She looked at me with a jealous frown. Recalling she was at work, she suppressed the frown for a serious look. Xavier seemed amused; his dreamy eyes gave away what he felt. “She's here to register,” he said in his deep voice. I walked closer. He placed his hand lightly on my back, guiding me forward. The touch was brief, yet my heart skipped. Her frown doubled. She handed me a form. “Fill this out, dear.” The "dear" sounded cold. She bit her lower lip, pretending to arrange stuff on her desk to avoid looking at me. “Do you think your dress is perfect for college?” Her words pierced straight to my heart. I turned to him, but his eyes never flinched. He was super good at pretending he didn't know about the body I was covering with this skimpy outfit. I thought of what to say. Perhaps I could use this moment to let her know he belonged to me. “I'm sorry, ma'am. It was just so hot, and I felt safe wearing this since I'm with Alpha Xavier—my new daddy.” My lips curled into a sexy grin as my eyes rolled slowly from her to my daddy standing behind me. His fist balled, and his brows arched. You're going to get your punishment when we get home, his look said. I smiled, turning back to the lady. “Alpha Xavier belongs to me; you couldn't seduce him. You're the daughter of his best friend, right?” she snapped. I froze. How did she know so much about him? Who was she to him? She chuckled. “Panicked? You don't need to panic as long as you two aren't doing anything together.” Was this a threat? “I've flirted with Xavier for three years, and he wouldn't even regard me. This time, I'll take him by force.” I remembered what he said—that he was no longer smitten by beautiful ladies. Her eyes fell on my chest, and I saw her flush. “What's that?” I asked, bewildered. My eyes dropped. My n*****s were pointing. “Is there something wrong?” “Are you done with her documents?” Xavier’s deep voice broke the budding rivalry. She cleared her throat, stammering. “Yes, yes. I'm done.” She quickly handed the files over to me. My heart was hammering. I needed to know who she was to my daddy and if this was a new rivalry I'd have to deal with. “Please go over to that desk and fill out the student form,” she pointed. “Okay,” I said without looking at her. Daddy followed me. My body was on fire. The stares of the staff and students made my p***y clench. I wanted to push my skirt off and get his c**k into me right then and there. I sat down and began writing: Name, Age, Birth Pack, Emergency Contact (Daddy Xavier, of course), and Course of Study. My handwriting shook a little. I could feel Xavier standing a few steps away, checking his phone, completely composed. I finished and handed it in. The lady at the desk processed it and gave me a folder. “Welcome to RavenHills College of Medicine, Miss Ava. You’ll begin summer classes today, as the Alpha proposed.” I smiled mischievously. “Thanks, ma'am.” When we stepped outside again, the sun was even brighter. Xavier walked toward the car, but I grabbed his arm. “Wait.” “I want to look around,” I said quickly. He glanced at his watch. “I have to be back at the estate in thirty minutes.” “Please. Just a quick walk,” I begged, tugging on his arm. He sighed. “Five minutes.” We walked through the pathways. I noticed girls staring openly at him. He didn’t seem to care. I walked close to him, brushing my arm against his. “Stop clinging,” he murmured. “I’m not,” I whispered back. He shook his head, but there was no real anger. He loved it; I could tell. “You will be allocated a hostel room,” he said. I froze. “Why? I thought I was going to live with you? Is that why you've been acting cold?” Tears were about to shed. His hand slid over my shoulder. “Not that. I didn't say that. You're a VIP student. Whenever you have late-night classes or practicals, you don't need to return to the estate. I have an apartment at my office, and those nights, I'll be staying overnight, too. Remember, I'm a practicing lecturer.” I melted. What a good time to be a student. “I’ll make some friends,” I said excitedly. He sighed dramatically. “Only girls. No boys.” “Just friends,” I teased. “No!” His voice rang cold and deep. “You’re so cold sometimes,” I hissed, pouting. “Yeah, because you belong to me. I own you now, and you must follow my rules,” he replied.
