I could not believe what I was hearing at this moment. Here I thought he was back for good reasons, yet it was all just a ruse. I saw the smirk on Jace's face knowing that he felt good about this situation and that he was digging to protect me. In a way, he did keep his promise like he said and that made me want to smile like an i***t, but I could not as Ethan's presence just made me angry. I saw Jace taking a step already eyeing the door, yet I stopped him right in his tracks.
