She must be found

1024 Words
The sound of the heavy wind woke Anita up from her sleep. She didn't believe she had slept for that duration of time. All she wanted was to rest a little after her appointment with the doctor, but she had overslept and it was now past midnight. Her room was cold due to the wind blowing outside. It looks like the weather is preparing for a heavy downpour. She could hardly see anything in the dark room, but she observed the door to her room was opened. This was unexpected as Logan had ordered the guards to always make sure it was locked. Anita knew this was the perfect time to run away, as spending another day in the pack might lead to her death. She peeped through the slightly opened door to see if anyone was outside, but everywhere was quiet like a graveyard. She tiptoed outside her room and waited to see if they would come after her. Moreover, luck was on her side as there was no one in sight as she walked through the house. Reaching towards the gate, she saw a guard leaving the gatepost and flashing lights towards her direction. Anita hid behind the big flowerpot, as the guard walked towards the extreme of the compound. She tiptoed to the empty gate, running to the woods as fast as her legs could carry her. …………………………. Logan arrives from a hunt with his beta. He was informed of Anita being rushed to the pack's clinic. He knew she was looking sick but he never expected it would end up seriously. "Hello Doc" " Good evening Alpha" " I was informed that Anita was rushed here yesterday. How is she doing?" " Yeah, she is fine, she needs some rest, her condition is delicate, you know, the first few months of pregnancy need proper attention." " I didn't hear you well, you mentioned pregnancy" "Yeah, were you not informed?" "No, is she still here?" "I discharged her yesterday, gave her some medicine, and told her she had made sure she ate well" "So Anita is pregnant and she couldn't tell me. What is wrong with this girl?" "It was just yesterday that she got to know." Logan had deliberately decided not to check on Anita the night before. He was tired from the administrative runs he was managing at the pack office. The next morning, his beta had informed him about rogues who had intercepted their truck. "Thank you doc" as he made for his house. Getting home, he called a guard to get her from the basement. He was visibly annoyed and shaken as he likes to be in control of things, not the other way around. " I didn't see her there," the guard said, looking confused. "What do you mean you didn't see her?" He thundered, "Search the room well! " He paced around the room, fuming and cussing. First, it was him getting to know things late, and now his guard spewing rubbish about her disappearance. "We've searched everywhere. We didn't see her" "Don't give me crap, how come she was able to leave her room at the first instant?" "I am not aware sir…" He slapped the guard on his face and went to check the empty basement. "So you mean, she was able to escape from all of you in this house without anyone finding out. Logan clenched his fist in annoyance, he loathed to find himself in a situation like this. He looked at all of his workers standing before him and was confused about what to do with them. "You should all find her at all costs or prepare yourself for what is coming next." He left his house for the woods as that was the only place that could calm his nerves. Coming there gives him a soothing relief from the chaos of his daily life. The night was far gone, despite being a full moon night, all he wanted was to rest and not hunt. As he made an effort to get himself comfortable on a fallen tree, the moon goddess appeared to him. He bowed his head at the brightness coming down on him. "Logan, what have you done? I brought someone your way to give you rest. You treated her badly until she left. Don't you know she is your fated mate?" Logan was visibly shaken and shocked at this news."Moon goddess, I never knew she was my mate, I am sorry." "How would you know? You let yourself be consumed with anger and hatred for the innocent. " "I am sorry, I never knew we were fated for each other. I was just hurt by what her father did. He killed my wife." "Stop that! He didn't kill your wife. There are some things about life that we don't have control over, and one of them is death." "If her father had been early enough, my wife wouldn't have died. I find it difficult to erase the memory of the pain she passed through" "Since you are bent on arguing with me, I will leave you to yourself then…" "No no no, goddess, help me out, help me find her." "I can't do that for you, you will have to find her yourself. " "Please, is there not anything you can do to help?" The past feelings of pity and eagerness to always visit her just made sense to him. Then he couldn't explain why he felt that way, but it is all making sense now. He remembered what she said about being mates for each other and he had beaten her mercilessly that night for the statement, only if he knew, he thought to himself as he held his head in dejection. "Moon goddess, help me out please, direct me to where she is." "It is too late Logan, you have to find her yourself." The sky cleared as the moon goddess left his presence. He had no option but to find her by all means. " I would search for her everywhere on earth. I am not getting a break until I find my mate"
