Mara and I had planned a small girl’s outing with friends. We decided to get a little break from work to relax and have fun. We met at the restaurant for dinner then proceeded to the club for some fun.
While dancing, a guy grabbed my hand for a dance, which I declined and proceeded to my seat.
“ Why did you say no ? Mara asked me with a surprising look.
“ Not in my mood for that, I said, looking at her still loss in my thoughts
She came closer to me inquiring why the cold feet looked all worried, with her voice slowly fading away. Without any hesitation, she grabbed my hand and sat at the edge of the seat.
“ Helen, are you okay? She asked with her voice slowly shaking and her heartbeat beating as fast as a train with curiosity, staring at me.
I responded by trying to force a smile out of my face, but she was so determined to get the truth out of my mouth.
“ No, you aren’t fine, something tells me you are bothered, so tell me what it is ? I looked at her straight in her eyes. All I could see was curiosity, so I told her to sit at my side.
She sat quietly and was eager to hear me out.
“ I have someone who is really dear to me and I don’t want anything that will jeopardize the relationship between us. I love this man, and it will be a good thing if we finally end up as husband and wife.
Mara looked at me with her eyes wide open and face filled with shock. It'd been a long time since we had talked about something of that sort, her mouth was still open.
“ Are you for real? She said, looking straight into my eyes to confirm that. I nodded my head and put a broad smile on my cheek.
She moved closer to knowing more about what I just told her.
I told her everything about Charles and how handsome he was, the way he treated me with love, care and affection made her smile ,stretched her arm to give me a hug. We tossed our glasses and sipped.
Ring! Ring! Who is calling at this hour disrupting our beautiful moment? Rushing to find out who it was
Huh! It’s Charles. I quickly pressed the answer button so it wouldn’t ring for long.
“ Hello baby! I said with a smile followed by a soft tone in my voice.
“ How are you? He asked
I winked my eyes, smiled and responded, I am fine, baby. “
Just called to check on you and make sure you are safe.
Hope you have lots of fun? And don’t drink too much alcohol.
“ I love you so much, don’t forget to give me a ring when you guys are done. His words always melt my heart. I could feel his presence in my mind, thinking about him is my daily routine.
Mara looked at me in a lovable manner, gave a smile, then headed to the bathroom. After the call she was still surprised about everything.
We had a few bottles of beer with the other girls and chatted all night.
At the table, Mia and Zoe were sitting in a corner drinking.
Hi girl, hope you are enjoying the evening. I think this outing will help refresh our minds. Anyway, you guys should have fun — I need to use the bathroom.
Wow! Seriously, though. Helen could wear a paper bag and still look like she'd been walking the runway, Mia said, staring at me.
“Right ? She is very beautiful, and her outfit looks gorgeous. Yesterday she posted a selfie in her kitchen… and somehow it looked like an editorial shoot. Like who has lighting like that in real life? Zoe couldn’t hold herself either.
“ She probably doesn’t even use filters. She is the filter. It’s so unfair if I angle my camera wrong I look like a thumb with eyebrows, Mia jokingly poured out her mind while laughing.
“ Her skin ! So smooth and glowing. I need whatever potion she’s drinking. I really envy her beauty and wish I could have a glowing skin like hers, Mai said with a saggy voice. We should just ask her. Like, casually, Hey Helen, what’s your skincare routine and are you secretly descended from Greek goddesses?
Did you hear the noise coming from the bathroom? I think someone is screaming for help. I can hear a lady’s voice from that direction, I think we should go and find out what is happening. Mia Said
HELP! Please, I can’t move my feet, it’s stuck to the door and it hurts so badly. Helen screams
Oh ! Sorry, Helen gently pulled out your feet. Zoe held her on the other side so we could lift her up. Wow. Even in distress you look like a shampoo ad. Mia said while holding my hand.
Oh! Finally, my feet are out. Thanks, Mia and Zoe. I am happy you guys came to my rescue.
It’s fine Helen, we are happy you are okay now. Just be careful next time. This beautiful skin of yours will be ruined with multiple scars. I hope it gets better soon.
You should see a doctor for proper treatment of the scratches so that it won't leave a scar when it has finally healed. I think there are some lotions that you can apply to help it fade away, right ?
Yes ! Don’t worry Mia, I got some scar removal cream in my skincare routine that helps fade scars easily. I think it will be of great use now since I don’t use it often. Helen said while cleaning her feet with a cotton cloth and alcohol.
“ Your skin looks so smooth and beautiful, Mia and I were just wondering what your skincare routine is? We would be glad to know if you don’t mind sharing, Zoe said.
Thanks for appreciating my skin color, but wouldn’t lie to you girls. I don’t care a lot about my skin to be sincere. I think it’s naturally smooth.
Wow ! That means you really got a good skin tone there. Anyway. If you say so, then we just have to figure it out ourselves. You look so beautiful tonight in your outfit as well.
