What Finn Says
Riven told him about the lunch from the back of the car on the way to a meeting and Finn listened with the focused attention he gave to everything involving Riven's plans, which was the attention of someone who had been adjacent to those plans for twenty years and had learned to hear what was said and what was not said with equal precision.
"She is not moving toward you," Finn said, when Riven finished.
"No," Riven agreed.
"But she heard what you said about Valdris."
"She heard it. She is too honest not to sit with it."
