Chapter 3: I Am Your Wife!

1005 Words
Rara pulled out her phone without hesitation, recording the sounds of Rora's moans emanating from the room. Once satisfied, she tucked her phone away and cast a cold, unflinching gaze at the two brawny men who were listening intently to the noises from behind the door. "What are you two still listening to?" Rara's voice was sharp and cold, her demeanor unbothered by the explicit sounds, showcasing her experience and lack of embarrassment. The two men immediately straightened, their faces flushing with embarrassment as they stuttered, "N-nothing." Feeling too bored to continue scolding them, Rara nonchalantly remarked, "Even though the task wasn't completed to my standards, I still managed to achieve my goal. You'll each receive half of the payment." The brawny men, though discontent, kept their grievances to themselves. They trailed behind Rara until she halted abruptly and spun around to face them. "Who among you is skilled with a camera?" But recalling how they had ruined her perfect plan earlier, she quickly added, "Never mind, I'll use a paparazzi." With that, she walked towards the elevator, with the two brawny men trailing behind her like shadows. Once they left, the corridor fell silent. The intriguing sounds from room 316 also quieted down. Inside, the room was filled with faint breaths and loud snoring. If Vandy weren't exhausted from the effects of the drug, he wouldn't have been able to tolerate Rora's loud snoring. As the faint moonlight transformed into a glowing morning light, the room became bright with sunlight. When the sun's rays fell on Rora's face, her eyelids fluttered open, her expression reluctant to wake up. Suddenly, a confused look crossed her face, and her eyes snapped open as she became alert. Pressing her palms on the bed to prop herself up, her face twisted in pain. Groaning, she looked down between her legs at the bloodstain on the bedsheet. Her heart skipped a beat. Panicking, she turned to see the bare back and buttocks of a man. Memories of the previous night flooded her mind. "No, no," she stuttered in confusion and resistance, shaking her head. Anxious, she climbed out of bed, grabbed her ripped princess dress from a corner, and hurriedly put it on without bothering to take a bath or worry about exposing herself through the torn parts. She quickly ran out of the room, looking worried and desperate. Her mind was consumed with the thought of meeting Kelvin and explaining everything to him. She convinced herself that he would surely believe her because he loved her. Without money for a taxi, she ran towards Henderson Corporation, a few blocks away from Essential Hotel, sweating and panting. Fearing that Rara or her step-parents might inform Kelvin, she quickened her pace, looking increasingly anxious. An hour later, she reached the entrance of a branch belonging to Henderson Corporation, with a sense of urgency, she entered, surprising the three security guards stationed at the gate. Before they could respond, they heard her urgently shouting, "Kelvin!" The gatemen were dumbfounded that the crazy fat girl seemed to know their president. They watched with interest as Rora ran towards Kelvin, who was standing and talking with two of his friends. In a panic, Rora blurted out, "Kelvin, if Rara and my parents say anything to you, it's a lie! They're lying!" She was so anxious that she couldn't articulate her thoughts properly or notice Kelvin's angry expression. Seeing her disheveled hair and torn balloon-like princess dress, Kelvin was rendered speechless with rage. The sound of his teeth grinding was loud enough for his friends to hear. "Hahaha!" His friends burst into laughter. Kelvin had never taken Rora out anywhere, assuming she was unaware of where he worked. He had underestimated Rora's affection for him; little did he know that she had frequented the branch of his family's company where he was heading several times. "Security!" Kelvin shouted in frustration. He felt humiliated and enraged, never expecting a scenario where Rora would publicly disgrace him in front of his friends and employees. "Kelvin, is she your wife?" one of his friends inquired, amused. He had heard the gossip that Kelvin was married to an ugly, overweight girl from their childhood days. "Shut up!" Kelvin retorted angrily, his eyes bloodshot. Rora looked up in confusion. She had run all the way here to explain things to him, hoping he wouldn't be angry. Seeing his furious expression left her bewildered. A team of security guards quickly arrived, and Kelvin ordered coldly, "Throw her out!" Rora stiffened in shock, blinking in confusion. Before she could regain her senses, she was being dragged out of the company premises. In panic, she shouted, "Kelvin, I am your wife! Why are they chasing me away?" Kelvin stumbled at her question, inhaling deeply and balling his fists to quell his anger. Watching coldly as Rora was dragged out of the company. Turning to the Chief Security Officer he spoke icily, "I don't ever want to see that mad woman inside this company again. If I ever do, you can consider your job gone." Rora stood outside the gate, clinging to the delusional hope that Kelvin would send someone to bring her in. Had she overheard the instructions Kelvin gave to the CSO, she would have given up immediately and left. After waiting for an hour with no sign of anyone coming, she lowered her head in disappointment and shame. She couldn’t comprehend why her supposed husband, the one meant to protect her, was treating her so cruelly. Exhausted and disheartened, she walked all the way to the Smith's mansion. By the time she arrived, her princess gown was drenched with sweat. She was thirsty and tired, her legs trembling and her face pale. Upon passing through the gate, her body tensed in disbelief at the sight of Rara and Kelvin holding hands, looking like a happy couple as they walked through the garden with smiles adorning their faces. Consumed by jealousy and anger, she dashed towards them, her heart filled with chagrin.
