Karla asked with a barely audible voice but she looks clearly upset, nervous, and terrified seeing Avery.

“You need to leave now.”

Avery finds it weird. Why would Karla ask her to leave? Why does Karla look so nervous? Why does Karla look so upset? Why does Karla look so terrified? Why does she need to leave the place already?
